Traffic Police deal with parking chaos at Pattaya Port

traffic-10.jpg
PATTAYA:--On Monday a single Traffic Police Officer was sent down to the Bali Hai Port, otherwise known as the Pattaya Port, situated at the Southern end of Pattaya Beach, to deal with complaints received by the local authorities regarding parking issues in the Port area.

Despite there being 15 no-parking signs around the Port area, there appears to be a complete disregard of these signs by motorists and the Police also found two men collecting parking fees when they had no authority to do so.

At peak times the port area descends into chaos and traffic congestion is commonplace, caused by vehicles parking in areas where red and white stripes are painted on the side of the road which signifies no parking at all times.

The Traffic Police Officer began his blitz by clamping a red-plated Yellow Mitsubishi car which was being driven by a foreigner, according to municipal officers.

Good that the police are starting to deal with the parking problem, but they are only dealing with a minute percentage of the parking problem in Pattaya.

If they "blitzed" Pattaya in all areas for minimum of 3 months, I truly believe this problem would have been tackled proficiently.

What beats me is why those two monkey's charging for illegal parking did not chase the cop off, at least it is nice to see one cop doing his job.

The only way to deal with this to have:

  • 5+ police officers + 1+ senior officer
  • 1+ Mini Van
  • 25+ clamps
  • 2+ tow trucks
  • 1+ compound for impounding towed vehicles

Idea being van turns up, many officers jump out and ticket and clamp as many vehicles as possible, then start towing all away.

a few weeks the illegal parkers will learn.

If they "blitzed" Pattaya they would be either rich or dead.

  • They should have clamped the buses, rather than a few cars.

When they clamp a Merc S-class or BMW 7 series, then it will be news.

Has that never happened?

I bet he's pleased. smile.png

So, Pattaya City Hall has built a huge full-automatic car park right in the center of the Bali-Hai area and around the building cars are heaping up..........

it's about time that the bloody place is going to be opened.

Who in their right mind would use this automated care park ?

Power cut. Unknown time delay.

!0 drivers arrive at the same time to collect their cars. Unknown time delay.

5 drivers arrive to deposit their cars. Unknown time waiting until your car gets robotized away into the abyss.

Loose receipt for your parked car. Car lost forever in the system.

The mind boggles what can and will occur.

And I'm sure when the car park is finished, it'll have to be re-finished and re-finished due to unknown factors.

They always could refurbish the place into a huge brothel with automated ST-rooms.............

damn.....there are no brothels in Pattaya. wink.png
