Re-entry permit right after visa / WP renewal ?

Hi,

Tomorrow I have to go with one staff of my company to the immigration for my visa / WP renewal. I started to work in this company last year at this period.

3 Months ago I have informed my company that I would take holidays back home during Songkran and I asked them if it was ok and if my visa would be renewed by then, they said no problem.

However today I was filling up the TM-8 form for the re-entry permit since i'm going tomorrow to the immigration, I would get both my new visa as well as a re-entry stamp. The problem, the HR / legal staff of my company told me that I can't do that on the same day and that I have to wait at least one month after my visa is renewed...I told them that within one month I would be back home already so I can't wait....

Is that true that people must stay one month in Thailand just after their visa renewal? then apply for a re-entry permit ? I told them that it doesn't make any sense, if for example, someone needs to do a business trip outside Thailand 2 weeks after he got his new visa...They asked me if I can change my plane ticket...actually I can't and it will cost more.

I didn't find anything about that one month rule ... I just need confirmation from TV member that this is bullshit and that I can apply for a re-entry tommorow or within a week after my new visa

Thanks

Well it didn't go well. I went to the immigration this morning with one staff of my company...sooo many people there, the girl with me asked me to wait while she was getting the ticket, i had to sign some papers as well, then after one hour she came back and said they couldn't renew my visa because "too busy mai dai"

Then told me I have to go back there on Monday....I love immigration in Thailand saai.gif
