First time car buyers tax rebate...anyone else in the same situation?

Hi,

We ordered/reserved/paid the deposit for a new Toyota Pickup in November 2012, so that we would be eligible for the 'First time car buyers tax rebate' after one year of ownership if the car was reserved/ordered before the deadline of the end of December 2012. The car was delivered on the 4th of February 2013.

Now one year later, we are being told that we are not actually eligible for the rebate because the car came too late!

<deleted>!

So what they are saying is that if you order a car before the deadline of the end of 2012, you will get a 10 percent rebate. But if the car is delivered after the deadline, you are not entitled to the rebate.

Anyone else experiencing this?

I have found out that the problem is that the final paperwork that was required to be sent to the government; the vehicle registration document, came many months after the car was actually delivered. This was then sent to the government office in charge of the rebates.

They are saying that because this came late, they are unable to give the rebate.

So, it sounds like Toyota is at fault here for taking such a long time to send the document!
