Hi All i am hopeing someone will know, when you have a retirement or marriage visa you have months to move your furniture and goods to Thailand tax free, does that allow for your car as well.

No visa will allow you to bring your goods in duty free. You must have a work permit.

And forget about your car, you would have to pay import tax on it, which is costly and do the whole legalization process to get a Blue Book for it in order to get a number plate...

Sell your car back home and bring the money, you will need it anyway...

When my family and I moved to Thailand, we planned on moving our furnature over. Thankfully, we didnt, this environment would have ruined it.

Buy locally, itll be cheaper in the long run. Everyday you'll find nearly new item online via Thai Visa Classifieds and Craigslist. Of course you always have the IKEA optios. <deleted naming and shaming>

Good luck.. keep your stuff back home in storage or sell it before you leave.
