Popular Post webfact
Bt2tn bill ruled unconstitutionalThe NationBANGKOK: -- The Constitutional Court ruled Wednesday that the Bt2-trillion borrowing bill was unconstitutional. The ruling rendered the bill invalid even though it has been passed by the Senate. The court ruled that the bill violated the charter both in its content and in its enactment procedure, Chaowana Traimas, the secretary to the Constitutional Court said. The Democrats had alleged that the bill violated Article 169 and Article 170 of the Constitution because the bill sought to bypass the normal budgetting process. The Democrats also alleged that some coalition MPs voted for the bill on behalf of their peer.Satit Wongnongtaey, a protest leader, informed the demonstrators at Lumpini Park at 1pm of the court's ruling to loud cheers.Satit told the crowd that Thai people would not have to be in debt for 50 years. He said Wirat Kalayasiri, the head of the Democrat's legal team, would seek an impeachment against caretaker Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra for having sponsored an unconstitutional bill. With eyes brimming with tears, Yingluck said she hoped that the next government would continue with the project to develop the country's transport infrastructure. She insisted that it would require a special law to obtain loans for the project.-- The Nation 2014-03-12

NeverSure
Not to worry. No one would loan that much money to Thailand anyway. Hell, they can't even sell a few bonds to help support the rice scheme.

Popular Post Roadman
Excellent news and good work from the courts where Thaksin and his non democratic lackies should be legally dealt with. The Shinawatra's would have been using that to gravy train all their corrupt scum bag practices to date with very little spent on quality completed infrastructure. The first of what is going to be a lot more good news from the courts for Thailand in the coming months to free Thailand from the Shinawatra's scumbag dictatorial total control. Now let's hope the decision is respected by all sides. Sadly not a chance I think. The appeal will be slapped in by the end of the day if not within hours. Yingluck will want lawyers to check the 'legality' of the ruling. I am grateful to the court for saving my great grandchildren from paying off this monstrous unnecessary loan designed to secure the Shinclan dynasty.

Popular Post GuestHouse
Very good call. Let's hope the PTP minority respect this decision. You forget. The whole and single purpose of the PTP is to prevent the PTP paymaster Thaksin Shinawatra from being held accountable for the crimes of which he was convicted. The founding principal of the PTP is the idea of being above the law.

Of course, all the people, who would have probably skimmed 1.5 Trillion right off the top are probably not going to be very happy.

Popular Post rabas
Democracy in motion. Killing corruption one step at a time. Protest to stir them up to stop/delay their schemes. Kill off their "one man one vote for corruption" election fraud. Raise the curtains and expose the rice scheme for the farmers to see. Now starve them out by killing the super corruption bill. And when they say they don't like to looks of armed soldiers protecting protesters? Let'm wear pink! Nice to watch. Maybe Thailand has a chance after all. Edited March 12, 2014 by rabas

Popular Post gemini81
All quiet on the pro-Thai rouge front. Guess they're brainstorming possible set ups, or the usual 'officials paid off in advance for the ruling' haha . Its too obvious, on the world stage now, that PTP are massively inept and corrupt; so this ruling is appropriate, following floods, rice schemes.....

Popular Post djjamie
So now that that farcical corrupt little venture has been stopped in its cancerous tracks lets get back to reality and look at what the Dems have come up with to save Thailand 5 trillion baht (2.2 billion with interest) which equats to giving 77,000 baht to each person in Thailand. They have produced the below within budgetary constraints. So while the PTP were scheming and plotting to acquire the money unconstitutionally and without transparently the DEM's were looking at doing it legally, transparently and as can be shown includes a budget for irrigation, education and public health care. The party that states they support democracy at every opportunity while being run by an unelectable, accused mass murderer, accuses terrorist, convicted criminal fugitive that tries to push through unconstitutional bills to secure more wealth is represented in the red column below as well. Not that anyone needs reminding... As another forum member states. One represents the future. One is living in the past.
