My retirement visa is nearly due for renewal. I was wondering if anyone had sent their wife to get the Stat Dec signed as we live in Ubon. She loves going to Bangkok, I don't. Any thoughts.

Consular staff would usually be obliged to witness your signature for a Stat Dec so you would have to attend; may be exceptions so call the Embassy to confirm.

The Canadian Embassy let me have a lawyer sign the declaration, with copies of his I.D. etc., and post it to them in Bangkok from here in Kalasin, it saved me a trip to the embassy, but I still had to pay the 1,500 Baht fee.
