I really like the term Pro-Yingluck Lotto 'rigging'. Wonder how long it takes before the Pro-Yingluck Rice Gamble 'rigging' appears in the headlines.

Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra is confined to a wheelchair as she attends the Cabinet meeting today; she has slipped and injured herself at a noodle shop in Chiang Mai province on Saturday.

BANGKOK: -- Anti-government protesters have called for inquiry into the latest lotto result which, they said, appears to be rigged in favour of Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra's supporters.

The protesters are outraged over the number 404, which was the last three digits of the official first prize number and also considered as the winning number by the popular underground lotto business.

Media reports indicate that many supporters of Ms. Yingluck has won handsomely by wagering on the number, as they chose the number from the license plate of the official vehicle boarded by the caretaker Prime Minister when she arrived at a noodle shop in Chiang Mai province on Saturday.

Although top officials at the Government Lottery Office have insisted that the correlation between Ms. Yingluck and the lotto result is purely coincidental, anti-government protesters have claimed that the government might have rigged the lotto result to favour Ms. Yingluck's rural supporters.

To voice that suspicion, Mr. Issara Somchai, the core leader of the People's Committee for Absolute Democracy With the King As Head of State (PCAD), led his supporters to organise a rally in front of the Government Lottery Office today.

The protesters are marching in motorised convoy via Bang Sue Tollway.

Another convoy of PCAD protesters is also headed toward the residence of Mr. Jarupong Ruengsuwan, the Minister of Interior Affairs, at Soi Latprao 19.

The speculation that Ms. Yingluck has somehow influenced the supposedly-randomised mechanism of lottery arose after the lottery draw on 16 March, which turns up the number 531404 as the first prize winner.

Is there nothing in this country that one fool or another won't try and blame on the Shinawatras?

Or you could say, there is nothing the Shinawatra clan will not do to buy people's vote.

These claims that the National Lottery is being fixed have come up ever since Yingluck came into office. In a staggering number of draws her license plate numbers were the winning number. This March 16 draw was by no means the first.

Some people now believe she has magic power. Don't laugh, it's true.

Of course, there is always chance and random, but it happened a bit too often to be pure chance and random.

Why are the Police in charge of the Government Lottery Bureu - basically a govt sanctioned Gambling. police are supposed to run after the Illegal Gamblers and not be the ones running Legal Gambling.

There is no way it could had been rigged...maybe mysterious but not rigged. What do you think the chances were that the day Obama won the presidency Obama's home town of Chicago the lottery numbers were 666! And what about the year to the day of 9/11 the NY lottery pick 3 was 911! Strange things happen sometimes.

I suspect some urban myths may have just made it to the list of 'established facts'

according to snopes.com in these cases it was actually true.

Why does the Lottery Office have a Pol. Maj-Gen. as director and why was there a need for a Pol. Lieut-Gen to be present to oversee the 16th drawing? Just to keep them busy after their retirement?

It's an inactive post...

Could be it's harder to find someone who is retired from the army and who isn't a general....?

The registration numbers of vehicles Yingluck has used have been the same as the last 2 or 3 lottery numbers 9 times since she has been Prime Minister.

Regarding ex police in charge of the lottery funds-that's been Thaksin's strategy for a long time now, appoint his friends to a cash cow.

She seems to have banged her leg up quite badly getting out of that van.

Yet she still soldiered on, ate some noodles with her adoring masses and chaired a cabinet meeting.

Has this nation, or any other for that matter, ever had the good fortune to be lead by such a steadfast warrior of righteousness?

I should think not!

Yes: philanthropism.

Good to see she's still soldiering on with her second job of selling lottery tickets to her adoring masses. I don't think Thailand, or any other county in the world for that matter, has ever had the misfortune to be misled by such a steadfast incompetent misfit.

Did she buy any of her own 404 tickets?

If you believe neither that the lottery is rigged or, at least, has great potential to be, then it is you who is the fool...
