Hi

Thinking of buying in bkk a 2 or 3 br apartment . needs to be near a skytrain or bts, but doesnt have to be smack in the centre of the city. Building should be well maintained.

What price range would be considered a good deal?

Cheers

If you want a reputable developer and within 5 (five) min walk of BTS, then I would estimate from 100kB/m2 and upwards depending on floor etc.

Off-plan would be cheaper.

Both helpful responses, thank you.

Re: MichaelJohn; I would be interested in knowing your neighbourhood in order to comparison shop a little.

Tnx for the replies. Would be buying to stay there.

I'd rent first as the supplies outweigh the demands now. On top of this, with the political unrest and Thais have a tendency to shoot themselves on their own feet, the market just might open up for some deals soon. Economy is not going well so this always means that the bank's NPLs are increasing.....

As a newby can any tell me how to go about finding out if a particular area is good to buy in or not, for instance someone told me to look at properties in Sai Noi Nonthaburi but i would not know if that was an area worth buying in. if and when you want to sell the area means a lot.

thanks for any advice

You can always look for an older building to get you closer to the 50k/metre range. I think DS Tower 2 on soi 39 is around that range. Not terrible close to the Skytrain, but just a short bike trip away.
