Somtamnication
Any recent feedback from this consulate. Short of having to fly to Brisbane, I need a Non O (wife and kid) multiple. Any info is appreciated.
ubonjoe
There are several recent reports about Savannakhet on the forum. There are no agents. You need marriage certificate (plus copy) and signed copy of your wife's house book and ID card. Copy of your passport photo page. No financial proof is required., There are 2 recent repors here: http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/189375-latest-reports-of-getting-a-visa-in-the-region/

Somtamnication
Thanks. Wife does not know what this is.... Kor Ror 2 Edited March 23, 2014 by Somtamnication
ubonjoe
The consulate does not normally ask for the Kor Ror 2. It is the marriage registry. She can get a print out of it at any Amphoe for 20 baht.
Greg Nixon
I had good success in Savanakhet. Be prepared to stay overnight and go early in the AM. If you have a Thai wife or friend it is helpful. I stayed at the Surin Suk hotel ( not on the internet ) - clean and reasonably priced. I will not give you further details as i see someone else has already been very detailed. You must leave your vehicle in Thailand and take a bus then transfer to a taxi. You must get a Lao tourist VISA - I forget the price. There is a Thai immigration office just prior to the bridge. It is off the main road a few hundred meters on the south side. They have been very helpful to me and give good advice. Do not forget your exit permit. I don't think immigration can give much advice about getting a visa from a consulate. There is no exit permit needed and they do not exist. If you mean a re-entry permit he certainly would not need one because he going to get a visa.
happynthailand
Don't forget to buy a bus ticket 50B, on thai side its on the left hand side just before comeing into immigration little hole in the wall office you'll have to buy the return ticket on the other side

Thank you Just a copy of your passport is needed. Each entry costs 1000 baht. The consulate is less busy than the embassy in Vientiane.

The casino is no longer a sponsor of the forum and also no longer does visas services. Not sure about the other question or exactly what you are asking about. Somtamnication
I would assume based on posts that I can take a bus or taxi from Ubon to the border town. How long / far is it from Ubon? Sorry, my computer is fried and am using a 9 year old motherboard with very basic graphics until next week, so google earth and maps does not work great.

You can get buses to Mukdahan from the main bus station. It will take about 3 hours to get there. After you get to Mukdahan you can get the bus to Savannakhet. If you have not bought your tickets yet I suggest you check Nok Air for flights to Mukdahan that are a fly/rid service via Nakon Phanom.
thailandbeachisland
Thank you. So the casino is no longer offering rooms at special price for visa runners or we are just not allowed to talk about it here ? About PLOY, I think it's a hotel that pick up people from UBON airport even if we are not customers of this hotel, I read it many times here but wonder if it's still available. Latest post found: http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/608955-mukdahan-ploy-palace-hotel-ubon-airport-mini-van-service/ Otherwise how much would cost a taxi from UBON to MUKDAHAN norder ? About nok air to nakhon panom timing is not so good: http://www.nokair.com/contents/promotion/mukdahan/en-US/index.html Thanks again. ubonjoe
Savan Vegas no longer offer visa run services. It seems the only offer shuttle bus service from the bus station in Mukdahan. http://www.savanvegas.com/home.html Air Asia also fly into Nakon Phanom but you have to arrange your transportation to the bridge. You could contact the Ploy hotel for info. I think they would also pick you up in Nakon Phanom.

ubonjoe
Baht ( about !500) or dollars (correct amount) are accepted for Lao visa. At the consulate only baht is accepted (5000 for multiple entry).

DJH77
If you fly Nok air to Nakhon Phanom they have a shuttle bus to Mukdahan. If you fly to Ubon you can get a taxi or the Ploy Palace bus to Muk. The Lao Visa is US$30 or 1,500 baht. Good place to stay in Muk is the Mukdahan Manor, they will transport you to the bus station to go to Savannakhet.
