Sealing stained wall…..use what here?

Featured Replies

Hi

If there was a damp patch on a wall back home one would slap on some undercoat before any emulsion top coat otherwise the stain would keep coming through.

Basically an oil paint seals the stain.

What do TVers use here in Thailand?

Wondering if one of the liquids which come in brown bottles at 40baht a time in every hardware sip will do the trick.

Thanks.

remove all the old paint around and over the water stain let air dry for a day

then use a concrete sealer (many brands) to paint over the cleaned off section let dry for a day then reseal it again

make sure the sealer is good an dry then you can paint over the spot never to be seen again

Have you sorted out the source of the damp problem? If not the problem will recur no matter what you paint over it!

Yes it has been coming from a puddle on aircon ledge which will be sorted.

Today missus bought some oil or spirit based primer for the job.

If the patch is dry, undercoat all the way.

Little brown bottle for 40baht. Sure you not been to the local and sipping on the LOCOW.cheesy.gif
