cheesy.gif Neutral Prime Minister...what a joke. This guy has been in Thaksin's pocket for years.

If an election was the way out, we would be out of problems already, wouldn't we???

Who comes up with this crap. Oh yes, I forgot, the Thaksin Propaganda machine sick.gif.pagespeed.ce.tVTSNn-2vr.png

You sure about that? His party was in Ahbisit government coalition. What a joke !

He's been in everyone's pocket for years and every coalition government for years.

He had "no choice" but be part of Abhisit's coalition government. How could he keep skimming money if he wasn't part of the government?

As soon as the election of 2011 took place, a sea of people - including Banharn - went to see Thaksin. Just seven days after Yingluck was elected, she denied it had anything to do with the composition of the cabinet, and continued to deny that Thaksin's interests were being addressed. And yet here we are - three years later - and the same denials from Yingluck and Pheu Thai. The very same assertions. Before the 2011 election, they were -

- Thaksin has nothing to do with anything, and has nothing to do with anything, and will have nothing to do with anything. We want true reform that will unite the country. We want to do away with corruption for all time. Vote for us, please, and this time we'll really deliver. Really.

So Thaksin has now asked Banharn to make this statement. Thaksin wants back in the saddle, it is true. But at least he's given his cousin Surapong a rest. Those press conferences were putting even him to sleep.

Elections wont solve anything , whoever wins the other mob will be out on the streets, tit for tat.

Mr. Barnharn also brushed aside rumors that he would accept the role of the “Neutral” Prime Minister. Even if approached, he would turn down the proposal, saying he was not ready for the job, adding that whoever was assigned the task would be put in a precarious position.

Gods forfend that a Thai politician should ever consider doing, what is good for the country, rather than best for himself & his loyal followers ! wink.png

If the Reds really did want to eliminate the elites, this man would be high on the list, instead he is always in whatever coalition is in-power, and always welcomed by whoever leads it. facepalm.gif

According to Banharn, there are at present no clear solutions to the country’s problems after the Constitution Court has nullified the February 2nd general election. He himself has not proposed anything yet, as the CTP Party is still unable to figure out which direction the country will go.

"He himself has not proposed anything yet, as the CTP Party is still unable to figure out which direction the country will go."

In other words who ever looks like they are going to be the winner when they do the CTP will jump on that band wagon.

Having an election is the only way out for this country; however, that won’t happen anytime in the near future, given the Democrat Party has once again threatened to boycott the polls, said Banharn.

didn't he just say

"there ar at present no clear solutions to the country’s problems"

I think he is a little confused. One side of his mouth says there is no solutions while the other is saying there is.

In other words he is afraid of what the red shirts would do to him. Rightfully so I would say.wai.gif

Election is solution to country's rift...

...said the man who once was Thailand's prime minister and proved so inept and thoroughly corrupt that he had to resign after less than one year. Not that this considerable "loss of face" would have prevented him from meddling in Thai politics ever since.

He's also the one former PM who will forever have his place in Thai history books for greeting Queen Elizabeth II during her state visit with the words, "Welcome to Thailand, Queen Elizabeth Taylor".

Last but not least he reportedly was caught cheating his way into parliament by allegedly presenting a master's degree attained through a master thesis written in French, a language the honorable Mr. Banharn cannot speak at all. Not to mention his non-existent English.

Being of very small stature (approx. 5'), photos of him mingling with other ASEAN leaders towering over him were published in the media, some with rather sarcastic comments like, "Dwarf and the 7 Snow Whites", and similar (ASEAN only had 8 member states at the time). I also recall another caption reading, "Towering intellect visualized" or something to that effect.

Give a small man power and he will show you just how small he is.
