Anyone have a MAP showing all the closed roads???? I have received numerous emails from friends with many roads, intersections, "tollway" exits that will be closed, and it is very confusing.

There aren't consistant names used for what's called the "2nd stage tollway", the one running north from the Rama 9 bridge to the outer ring road, north of Pathum Thani. That's the road I take every day, and it seems that some of it will be closed, but can't tell from the various descriptions.

Thanks

p.s. does anyone know if the WEST outer ring road construction/repair is complete?

Why not show these VIPs the 'real' Thailand and have them stuck in a traffic jam for an hour or two? Instead of wreaking havoc on the rest of the city?

Mmmm ... yes. Just like Queen Elizabeth takes her visitors on the tube to a transport cafe on the outskirts of London for a mug of tea and a good old fashioned English fry-up, before heading back to the Queen Vic for a bit of 'knees up Mother Brown' with Chas and Dave. :o

My humble guess: it is gonna be rather messy. Practically all roads in the centre city is mentioned in the advise I have seen - but not with specific times.

I am considering a trip to Pattaya for that reason - or just stocking up in the condo with beers and DVDs. Cheers!

Living in Yannawa as I do, close to the river and the Rama IX bridge, I'm particularly looking forward to complete traffic chaos! Having said that, for such a large celebration, is there a city anywhere in the world where there wouldn't be some disruption?

I was also considering going down to Pattaya for the weekend (forget Hua Hin - the hotels appear to be jammed), but I'm worried whether I'll be able to get back home on the Tuesday afternoon! :o

Anyone know whether the outbond road to Don Muang airport from Dindaeng to the airport be closed Sunday morning of the 11th? I've got a flight to catch leaving at 8 AM. According to BP the road will be closed from 5 AM to 1 or 2 PM. Will both the surface road and the tollway be closed? :o
