buck99
Conserving water today so you can have it in the future? It shouldn't be a problem! Planing for the future is what Thai's do best.
Wombat6
Thank god, they can blame it on a farrang: El Nino ! No ! No!.....Blame it on Yingluck.....she ordered an El Nino as part of her Flood Relief Plan
soalbundy
Ask the Dutch how to do regarding salt water encroachment. 50% of their country lays lower than the sea level and they are experts in water management and flood protection. That's why they are called The Netherlands. They also have efficient law enforcement and a high standard of education plus a corruption free government.......go figure why there is no proper water management here.
bigbamboo
Coming from Australia where we live with water restrictions year round in many areas, saving water is second nature to me. My Thai family think its a huge joke. Every time I have a shower Im told - mai save water. If they want urban Thais to save water they better start spending baht on convincing them why. Sent from my GT-I9300T using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app Thais don't take responsibility for their actions in the way Aussies do. How bad would things have to get here for Thais to resort to the kind of sacrifices Aussies were making to combat water wastage and preserve what little they had? The Aussies were even drinking recycled urine at one point. Mind you, with Aussie beer they've been doing that for years.
Bpuumike
Try telling this to TAT, or do you work separate like Jutaporn and Yinluck/PTP. TAT doing a campaign for the water festival JOKE. There will always be enough water for all the Thai pick-ups with a 50 gal pot in the back having a battle on the highway with another--or as a m/cycle overtakes he gets a full bucket of water in his face, Deaths and New year celebrations are hand in hand. Watch out Mr. El Nino has started weaving cloth. (El Nino LOOMS) Ha, ha, Ooooh. Don't give up the day job. El Nino can be resposible for lack of, or excess rainfall so they are covered either way.
simondan
Thank god, they can blame it on a farrang: El Nino ! Actually, bizarre as this seems to me, if El Nino (ie Jesus) was born in Israel he is Asian and not a falang. Saudis, Syrians, Iraqis, Iranians, Afghans, Turks etc all are Asians therefore not falangs. Papua New Guineans are 'black' so not Asian or falang. So if you live 7000 km from LOS and have no Thai blood at all you are not a foreigner, you are a brother. This was solemnly confirmed by my Thai friends who take the definition of falang very seriously. Us falangs (kee nok) are in a special, completely artificial category all of our own! Sorry, did I just go off on a massive tangent then? Sent from my GT-I9300T using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app

ginjag
i hope they waste billions of litres of water during songkran and then suffer the most massive drought in recorded history ........ these people are too stupid to listen to warnings so let them learn it the hard way ......or the thai way that "farang no understand " as they like to say .................. Very nice sentiments. Why are you so bitter towards the Thai people? Maybe bitter to you for not understanding what he was getting at..... So you think it is a brill idea to waste the water when the people themselves are shooting at their own foot. I think April water festival should be sensibly toned down according to the drought, because it is normal to have a drought at this time -----Maybe the festival is a month or two early??? OR they have a dry Festival.

Why are you so bitter towards the Thai people? i know theyre going to waste millions if not billions of litres of water at songkran and then complain if there isnt any water to grow the rice maybe ive been here too long but i can forsee it coming ........ its about time they learned some common sense and personal responsibility if im wrong and songkran is cancelled to save water for the rice crop il come back and appologise ......if they are so arrogant to ignore the warnings theyve been given they should have to deal with the consequences as well ............. thaimat
Also, he found that the number of rice farms this year had grown over 200 per cent. How is that even possible? People wanting to get into the Rice Pledge scam I mean scheme.
thaimat
In the 1930's America mostly solved the drought problem by building a large numbers of reservoirs all over the country. 80+ years later, this must appear to be akin to rocket science to the leaders here, who do so little to permanently combat flooding and drought. Too busy bilking the coffers, I guess.
