Red shirt democracy! Now you need be politically 'neutral' to perform in their territory. Did this singer protest against the Shinawatras? Or did he just vote Dem? bah.gif

Looks like Rihanna and Lady Gaga got lucky last time...

Ever considered that political neutrality of too many Thais may be the real problem here?

The protesters charged that Pongpat was not politically neutral and demanded the management to cancel the concert and to remove a poster publicising the concert which was put up in front of the premise.

The reds force the cancellation and the reason is: the singer is not neutral. Proofs again how important education is.

That's for sures!

Absolute democratic from a mob like this.

The other question is how many singers that support the UDD/Red Shirts/Pheu Thai have the Red Shirts shutdown? The answer is without a doubt, none. So it's not about neutral, is definitely about having a different politcal conviction than the Red Shirts. Not moral or just.

If they had beaten the singer, or burnt the restaurant down, that would have beenun- democratic. They were just exercising their free speech. At least in Chiang Mai when this happened, they showed up with friends and bought some food and drink. The least they could do.

Pongpat Watchabanchong pissed the Red-rats off in 2010 with his speech on Thai TV, about being all the same color, living all in the house of 1 father..

Cant have it all your way, redshirts, time to stop spending money on the red economy

This bunch of fascist street thugs do get around don't they? Such a fine example of UDD values and tolerance.

Thank you for adding your second sentence. From the first one I thought you were talking about the PDRC fascist street thugs. Thanks for clearing up which group of fascist street thugs you were referring to.

Always made clear what I think of any inclined to violence to achieve their aims on both sides.

UDD street thugs have made their fascist leanings clear since 2010.

They have no tolerance for any view but their own and see violence as the preferred, the best, the most effective solution to any problem they face.

Musicians aren't allowed to have a personal opinion that differs from the fanatic Red Shirt opinions.

No one is allowed to have a personal opinion that differs from the Red Shirts, guided by their supreme thinker.

Just wait and see if he ever gets back and takes full control. Censorship, political schools for the masses, re-education camps for those who won't submit perhaps,

Thailand needs to have an extremely neutral SWAT team to take down these red shirt morons!

Oh, and you are so much smarter than they are. Some joke you are.

We can see you're really smart by your previous post advocating violence against a person.

The red shirt idiots particularly hate Pongpat because he performed some of his well known songs on the PDRC rally stages. He is well known for his love of the king and during 2010 made a speech on accepting an award which was also seen as anti red.

He is one of the few real 'artists' Thailand has being a singer, actor, director and he actually has talent unlike a lot of the other people in the entertainment business here.

Sad a good guy is treated so badly by a few idiots because they disagree with his freedom of expression which is an important part of the 'democracy' the reds like to keep bleating about. Shame so many of the reds seem to not understand the meaning of 'democracy', red democracy you can keep, I don't want it. Real democracy is way way better !!!

Exactly he is biased towards the red groups but wants to perform in Nonthaburi. Nonthaburi is red shirt territory.

BTW: Thailand never had freedom of expression

A UDD member would not be a true UDD member without satisfying their need to impose cultural conformity and intolerance. It just wouldn't be right to allow others to express their views or even sing their music. If they're the " wrong type of people " - well, that's all they need. The UDD believe in democracy. But not free expression. Please contact Thida for further clarification.

Their is not really freedom of expression in Thailand otherwise we could discuss a lot of issues.

In 10 years things will be different in Thailand.

A hundred people stop a concert? The brown shirt militia in action. This is what awaits Thailand when they re in charge. And to all the so called reasonable people who think its solved when you hold elections: get it into your head for once and for all:

The constituencies have been adjusted by PPP ehm no TRT ehm damn i mean Phue Thai (sorry i keep forgetting that when you lose in court for electotal fraud its perfectly ok to change the name of your party and carry on) so that the Democrats cannot win, even if they would win the popular vote. This is why Suthep wants to change that before elections. He is fed up with fighting (and winning) in court just to see them change names and puppets and carry on. True democracy can only happen then. Long live the King!

This People’s Radio for Democracy bunch are becoming quite the little red storm troopers. I'm sure book burnings are not far in the future.

They have about as much in common with democracy as the other guys in the 30's were "socialists".

Well, once they've burnt the books, i hope they don't start on us teachers...............well maybe a few Thai teachers !:)
