Good dentist in CM?

Dr. Joy is a wonderful dentist!  Based on all the positive comments I read in this thread and others on ThaiVIsa, I just saw Dr. Joy for a chipped tooth.  She was great!  Contrary to what some said, I found their prices quite reasonable, and a downright bargain by Western standards.  Oh, and I called them on Saturday; they saw me on Sunday!  I'd recommended them highly to anyone seeking a good dentist at reasonable prices here in Chinag Mai.

I was recently at Dental World, 1 filling and a cleaning. 2000 for the filling, she said it was a big one, the filling, and 900 for the cleaning.

Cheaper than back in the west but still seems a bit pricey for CM.

Cleaning is usually 600bht, and I had half a tooth rebuilt for 800bht.

Siam Dental Hospital at the Superhighway end of Chang Puak road (just round the corner).

Chiangmai Ram Dental. Prices very reasonable. Root canals, crowns, extractions, teeth repair, etc.

They accidentally drilled through the side of one of my teeth while doing a filling.

Thought I couldn't understand what they were saying in Thai, I never went back, had the job finished elsewhere.

I have been a patient of Dr Joy for a long time. She also sees patients at Joy Plus Dental on canal road just off Nimman before Prasertland.

In the last 4 months had many visits to Dental 4U(near Thapae Gate).  I spent a lot of money(60,000 Baht).  A lower molar had to be extracted and I went with the implant and crown.  I had an implant and crown done in California and it cost over  $8,000. Then I though 60,000 is not so bad.    I picked a mid range price implant and the most expensive crown.  I have no complaints and the crown fit perfectly.  The crown was made in just two days(in the USA it took at least a week).  Just wanted to offer a perspective on a Dental Practice and Implant specialist when one is considering a lot of money.  I would go back to Dental 4U for all future dental needs.

Dr. Joy (if talking about same Dr. Joy) did several processes on both my teenage kids several years ago and her work was great. Her work was about same costs as Ram. The key is if you find a dentist you like keep using them. There are good and bad dentists in every clinic.

The Dr. Joy when she worked on the kids specialized in children's dentistry. I think clinic was Dental Land on Soi just off Nimmanhemin.

Don't know if she is still there.
