Popular Post mr chow
It's cheap, the climate, the culture , yada, yada, yada. BS. Good ol' fashioned mid life crisis and the hunt for younger women brought you here. Be honest. You didn't come here for air you can't breathe, the water you can't drink or western items you have to HUNT for. And it definitely wasn't the som tom. Me? It definitely played big on my decision. Popular Post chiang mai
Nice try but no! Like many people I came here because of work in the region and ended up staying. I thought I might stay for a year or two and all of a sudden it turned out to be ten! The female aspect wasn't a motivator at the time although my wife is a major reason why I stay.

Popular Post WinnieTheKhwai
Hey look, another round of trolling! Seriously though, if people came for the women they sure as #*(@% wouldn't pick Chiang Mai. That makes no sense at all. (Then I'd pick Bangkok, if no other reasons applied beyond women. Never mind that everything else is nasty there.) Edited April 3, 2014 by WinnieTheKhwai

Popular Post FolkGuitar
I find it odd that there weren't women in your own country, so you had to travel to find some. I've notice women in just about every country I've been in. Sure, there are one or two countries that are all male, but they are statistically irrelevant. Which country did you come from that caused you so much trouble?

Popular Post Thighlander
While I do enjoy the perpetual beauty contests, zero property taxes, truly affordable health care/dental care, and minimal African (Americans)/Muslims also played a big role. I like spicy food, too. I don't miss all the American women with the Fred Flintstone haircuts, either. Popular Post NancyL
Sure, I like the way that Thai women sew my clothes, cut my hair, do my nails, take care of my teeth, treat my medical problems, fly the airplanes I ride, run the banks I use, etc, etc. But that's just a small part of the reason I came here.

I think that we can safely rule out NancyL as one of the very few Thai Visa members who did not come here for the women. She fits in the 10% somewhere. Actually, I thought that the OP was giving us the benefit of the doubt with the 90% figure. Edited April 3, 2014 by Ulysses G.

Popular Post Chiengmaijoe
I would imagine in your case you mean prostitutes. Fortunately for me, I came here as a young , handsome businessman and met a wonderful young lady 2 years younger than myself. I'm still with her 25 years later. Besides being a troll, you're probably just a sad loser trying to make yourself look not as bad by hoping that you're not alone.

Metapod
sorry but not everyone is as pathetic as you are. you obviously are shameful about your decisions considering you are trying to rationalize them amongst other people here to make it seem normal. realthaideal
I spotted this troll right off in the last thread. Ummm....some people never had a problem getting any in their own countries. I came here for food and adventure. I have another friend who came here for elephants. Let me guess - your knowledge of Chiang Mai encompasses a keen understanding of the inner city and a 5 block radius of the moat? What's the next sweeping statement going to be?
