Can a person with a non O multiple entry visa participate at a Trade Show as exhibitor or assistant

Good subject, my colleagues from the UK attended a trade show as exhibitors in Bangkok last year.

The Exhibitors guide (from Impact Arena) explicitly said that no visa's or special arrangements are required for exhibitors, I know this to be technically un-true and so does half this forum..

But without absolutle doubt there were hundred or so Farangs breaking there law, no to mention the visitors that also were breaking the terms of thier 30 day exemptions by conducting "meetings".

It's common sense!! Will immigration be trawling the halls looking for violators? Of course they won't...

The laws are outdated and not well defined but they do serve a purpose for those that are harming Thailand- eg. taking jobs off Thais, illegally working in bars, Restaurants, Hotels and tour guides etc..
