hoping to get some good info, advice, or maybe someone in the same situation i have.

brief scenerio

my gf and i have been talking about her going to the USA for a short holiday and marriage. we have been together for almost 3 years. have lots of documentation, photos, ect.

we both have no desire to live in the states.

she has been employed with the same company for over ten years with a monthly paycheck. she does ok and does not need outside support. she has built a home for herself and her family but the home is not in her name. its with her family (grandmother) how i understand it from her explaining. has a ten year old son. her company has given her permission with a leave of abscence for 30days and upon returning will hold the same position. she has money in her account less then 100k (she can build that up as she is applying). most all her money has been going to her house the last two years which is completed.

i have been living in thailand for 10 years 8-9 months each year and returning to the states for seasonal work 3 months each year. i will continue doing this for about 5 more years. i have a retirement visa for the last 3 years. before i had to do tourist visas because of being under 50. i dont own any type of property. been renting the same place for over 3 years. i can document for the last ten years.

i have been reading and asking advice about what type of visa. have gotten and received great info from some members here on the k1 and cr1. from my understanding a K1 or CR-1 would be and option but in the long run its not going to do us any good. basically they are for if you are going to live in the states permanently and obtain a green card. we are not wanting to live in the states.

a tourist visa seems to be the best way to go which will allow her to come to usa in the future as well. provided she follows the visa rules. but then you have no idea if she will be approved for the visa.

my big question is. should i be involved at all in the process for a tourist visa? any suggestions how to go about? should i contact the embassy?

thank you kindly

Should you be involved in the process? I'd say, yes, given that you are pretty much established here with a "Retirement Extension" for some time. That's important.

Apartment? Got a lease on it, preferably in your name?

Got a bank account? Long time?

Check out some other threads her re tourist visas for the U.S.

Totally spot on.Your G/F has to prove (not you) why she will not stay in the USA. You do become a very serious part of the prof. What are your reasons for returning to Thailand ?

Is seems you have a very good chance of the visa being issued. The first will be a single entry and then a 10 year after that.

Be sure she submits a letter and other documents proving she will still have a job when she returns.

Include a copy or your passport including your extension of stay stamp. The when she goes for the interview give here your passport to show the officer.

Good luck.

there is really no specific reason. i like living here and made it my home when not working.

Example..How is your bank account in Thailand ? What reason for you to return becomes her reasons to return.

My wife just obtained her second B2 Visa to the US. The first was a single entry, for 6 months. This one is a 10 year multiple entry. The single biggest deciding factor at her interview was my letter and my passport and work permit. Proving your ties to Thailand proves she will return. Without those things, she would have certainly failed.
