New Highway planned in Udon Thani

Featured Replies

For anyone unaware there is construction of a new 4 or 6 lane highway planned to start next year. Apparently this was planned ten years ago and has been approved. Someone I know has been to the housing office and confirmed this. There has been no consultation with any residents who will be affected where the road will disect. Ban San Saran Village, i Village and numerous Soi's in Romyen Village. Allegedly there are meetings planned for the near future for residents to voice their dissaproval but will this be too late?

Residence's will have to be demolished for this to take place.

I heard about this from a resident of Ban San Saran. It's hard to believe that anyone would plan a major road through that congested area, Rom Yen, San Saran.

If this was approved 10 years ago I don't know how long ago Ban San Saran was built?

I'm in iVillage nearby and Phase 1 was finished less than a year ago.

If this was known, why were these allowed to be built.
