April 16, 201412 yr I'm feeling very homesick and almost painful for some Sicilian foods. I can cook simple recipes myself, but what I really miss are the sweets. Cannoli, pasta di mandorle (almond biscuits), cassatelle! Also fast foods like braciole and of course.. arancini! I know that it is unlikely because local ingredients are so different here, but there are so many Italians, maybe somewhere someone is making these things? There is one special food called 'cassatelle di Agira', a sweet semicircle pastry, and inside it has chocolate, almonds, flour, sugar, and lemon zest. http://www.cookingplanner.it/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/agira-6.jpg Impossible, only one part of sicily has them, but if I found one I would cry.
