Double entry visa.... Work visa.... Marriage visa.... Advice please

Featured Replies

Hi there

A month ago I obtained a double entry tourist visa in Laos and currently going for teaching job interviews and likely to be offered a job. I seek advice about changing my visa should I be successful in getting the job. If successful, I assume that they will give me documents which I will then take to thai immigration and change the visa?

I am getting married in July and thus dont know if I will need to change the visa again?

Thanks for giving me information about changing the visas. I would prefer not to have to go back to Laos. If I have the existing double entry visas can I go to the immigration in bkk or Jomtien to change the visas there?

Whatever visa I get, will I have to do 90 day reporting?

many thanks for helping

You will more than likely have to leave the country to get a non-b visa. Immigration seldom does a change of visa status based upon qualifying for an extension based upon teaching. Jomtien only does them for retirement as far as I know and it is possible that Bangkok is the only office that will do it for other reasons.

Getting married will not require you to change anything at immigration. If you don't get a job and extension before you get married you could go out for a non-o visa and apply for an extension of stay based upon marriage which would allow you to get a work permit and work.
