A recent post about the Seimens security code set me thinking.

This code prevents a person from stealing your phone and simply putting a new SIM in the phone.

If the code is turned on, any attempt to change the SIM will require the code to be keyed in.

The default setting on Nokia phones is 12345.

You will find the setup page under Settings/Security.

Enable the security code setting and change the value, but make sure you make a note of it somewhere. :o

I have set all the family phones with the same security code.

Never enabled mine, but now that I am thinking about it. I just locked mine. I assume it won't prevent a re-rom from taking place???
Seeing how easy and cheap it is in Thailand to get a mobile unlocked the usefulness of a phone lock seems very limited.

Any market have several guys who will reset the lock for a few bahts. Hardly worth the effort :o

Well, that's it then...a visit to Tukcom is on the cards for tomorrow.
