I am a Thai citizen with permanent US residency. I am thinking about applying for US citizenship, but from what I've read so far Thai government does not allowed dual citizenship. But when I browse this forum there are people who use both GB and Thai passport....how do you guys do it? Do you guys have dual citizenship? Is it ligit?

I have Thai Australian dual nationality, by birth, and it has never been a problem.

I just posted on another link, instructions from the Thai embassy in London on how to use dual passports. I guess it is an explit admissoin that it is possible.

Thailand does not officially recognize dual citizenship. But, as with many countries, there is no law against it. So, unless you ask to lose your citizenship obtaining another is not going to be a problem at the Thai end. In the case of the US it will not be a problem at that end either. Go for it.

lopburi3 is correct. Thailand no problem. United States you will have to renounce your Thai citizenship in your oath, but ignore it! Thai passport for Thailand, US passport for US. Homeland Security will not chase you around the world insisting you did not abide by your oath.

I have it ....Us/thai. The thai passport office knew that I have a US passport at time when I was renewing my thai PP, they didn't say anything further

The King was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts. you should know this if you are Thai but of course its not advertised. So at least for a moment he must have had US citizenship. Don't knock the US.

As a member of the Thai Royal Family, his father probably had diplomatic status in the United States. He would not have been subject to the jurisdiction of the United States and therefore would not have acquired US citizenship at birth, in accordance with the Fourteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution.
