thai language to listen to on headphones to compliment my already learned thai, recommendations?

Featured Replies

Hi, I have been spending 4 months every year in thailand for the last 12 years, but it is only last year that i took learning the language seriously, I took private lessons and can now read and write thai, so far so good. I keep a diary everyday and write in it in thai only and i have some great apps for the iPad of which the best by far is its4thai, still so far so good. However I am finding that although i am speaking out loud when i read anything its not the same as speaking to another person that understand thai even a tiny bit, so i dug out some very old thai linquphone cd's i had from years back and my thinking was i could listen to them on my headphone whenever i go for a walk, do housework etc…..I like hearing the thai speaker and just to repeat everything they are saying is keeping my mouth accustomed to the tones etc, but it just seems soooooo dated and if i'm honest i'm a bit ahead of where there at in terms of amount of vocabulary i've built up. So my question is, can anyone recommend something i can put on my headphones where i can just repeat back and keep my thai oral skills in check whilst i am in the uk, been back for 2 months and am not due to fly out again until 1st November and i'm just itching to speak a little before I fly before this date. does anyone else find this when they have to return to the UK? I learned so much the last time i was there i'm just worried i'll slip back before the next trip.

Kind Regards

Emma

If you're past the beginner stage and are able to read Thai, the audio clips from this site are excellent practice:

If you have an internet smart phone, perhaps tune into some Thai internet radio... there are plenty to choose from.
