Buddha Issara discusses security plan with Army ahead of Yingluck court date

Why all the fuss? Only Yingluck's lawyers will show up. I wouldn't be too suprised if it was only to once again apply for another two week extension. Perhaps we can all look forward to this day when some novel and refreshing new pre-text for why another extension is needed. It would be nice if maybe the court this time says enough is enough, but seems they should have already said that, so I'm not sure why they would start now.

When was this idiot monk put in charge of security he has absolutely no power or authority to stop people entering a public building. Could you imagine Joe Citizen of any developed country appointing himself in charge of national or state security. He would have balls squeezed, arrested and he would be dragged off to the loony bin. What a moronic piece of garbage.

I don't think they have any objections to people in general attending the proceedings, probably quite the opposite, as it would seem to serve their goals. They are objecting to the presence of a group that had indulged in intimidation of the judiciary on numerous occasions.

That's not to say that the demonstrators actions are legal or even "ok". Just goes to show the mess this country is in, or rather to exemplify we're not living in a "developed country". Most developed countries, the police and other security forces would not allow repeated threats and intimidation of the judiciary.

Good to see any group offering to protect the Constitution Court from repeated intimidations by the the red shirts.

Clearly, the police certainly are not up to the task.

Yeh, damn red shirts intimidating the Constitutional Court with their

Threats to judges and their families is indeed contemptible, to which the red shirts admit to.

BANGKOK, Sept 25 - Yossawaris Chuklom, also known as Jeng Dokjik, jailed Red Shirt activist and former comedian, confessed in Criminal Court today to having broken the law and promised to refrain from all political activity if he is released on bail.

The court will decide Friday whether to grant him temporary freedom. His wife put up Bt600,000 in cash as bail bond. Mr Yossawaris was jailed last month when his bail was revoked for his alleged intimidation of members of the Constitution Court.

So how exactly will Buddha Issara's mob in 2014 stop a Red Shirt from his angry tirade against the Constitutional judges back in 2012? Will Buddha pray and a time-wormhole will open throwing him back in time?

[added] Look gangrel, yes I get it, you want to hypothesize reasons for Issara to be there. But really he's there to shut down the government, and part of the government being blocked is the courts, so he wants to selectively permit that for cases he wants to happen. But this is not law and order, this is a man with a mob trying to seize power. The army needs to clear this lot out.

She cannot rely on an army that won't protect its own troops from this guard, but will protect the PDRC guard from its own troops!

Are you trying to claim that intimidation and threats of the judiciary by the red-shirts were limited to the linked incident?

Interesting all these comments which daemonise Buddha Issara and with him all the anti-government protesters with him.

I wonder what those posters have said when we had those anti-government protesters being 'peacefull' in 2010.

Well gagrel, if you had read the OP, the monk is not protecting anyone.

Perhaps you read a different OP.

OP:

they will stop any pro-government red shirts from entering the court because they could threaten judges or National Anti-Corruption Commission members.

It's an offer of protection.

The example I gave is but one of the aforementioned repeated threats and intimidations the red shirts have used as against the Courts. It demonstrates a history of similar behavior and their threats continue to the present.

The presence of the group is proportional to the inactivity of the police. The army doesn't need to clear this lot out, the police do. If the police did what they were supposed to do, there wouldn't be the need for all these various security entities from pdrc guards to Red shirt guards to issara's group to issan rambo's gang et al.

You beat them to an inch of their lives, hog tie them and toss them into the river to drown

Ironically, that's not far from red shirt leader Jeng admitted to in his criminal incite to riot charges. Inciting his red shirts to act in that fashion towards the judges and their families. Oh, and here's their home addresses and private phone numbers, now go get 'em.

Not in the Ukraine he wouldn't. Or Egypt, Sudan, Somalia, Libya, and countless other countries that are in the process of struggling for the democratic evolution.

If their on the winning side they become national heroes with comfortable jobs in government. Loose and they become war criminals. But, there always seem to be people, on all sides, willing to seize the moment.

Thailand has yet to go through the struggles that will bring about the social, economic and political reforms it needs to progress in the modern world. Sadly, these changes are often accomplished through embracing violence.

Hardly developed countries. Those Sudanese and Somalians now are the largest group when it comes to violent crimes in Melbourne Australia, those from countries like Irak, Libya are also jostling for positions. Definitely still 3rd world countries.

Thailand will not achieve the developed country status for at least another 500 yrs.

Oh Really? Well how do you rate hero Thaksin then? On the 2,000+ extrajudicial killings during the drug war, the Southerers who died in transport in the trucks under his instructions or the encouragement to pillage & burn Bangers in 2010. The Monk sort of pales in comparison. doesn't he? Many more Thais are waiting to see Thaksin serve the term he has already been convicted & sentenced to.

Thaksin is a Moron and a wanted criminal and he is right up there with this lunatic idiot monk, both will burn in hell holding hands.

Well, thank you very much. Not easy to see I guess but I'm writing this 'acceptance' note with teary eyes, near broken voice and with deep gratitude and in proper humility.

I also wonder what some posters here would say if Buddha Issara would practice self-immolation as form of democratic anti-government protest. With what we've got till now I'm afraid some would call him a cheap show-off.

Will the monk protect her or arrest her as she approach the court?

Or indeed, shoot her and torture her, like Colonel, Witthawat Wattanakul, ah but she doesn't have an army id card, so perhaps they'll go the full hog, put a PDRC whistle around her neck, tie her up, and throw her in the river like the taxi driver to drown? Really if the army can't/won't protect its own soldiers, I don't see how Yingluk can attend a court hearing protected only by the soldiers, till the protestors are cleared by the army.

Do you have any proof that PDRC members were involved in the incidents you mention ( in which case, maybe y6ou should share it with the police ), or just red sheeple propaganda and your bias making you want to believe it ?

The police already know, as does the monk.

BANGKOK, 29 April 2014 (NNT) - The People's Democratic Reform Committee has apologized for the attack carried out on military personnel by their security guards.

PDRC leader at the Chaeng Wattana Road rally site Phra Buddha Issara has personally apologized for their action and said the five guards who allegedly attacked a military intelligence officer last week will surrender themselves to police.

Police had told the senior monk that they would charge up to 10 guards with attempted murder.

WOW the PDRC took accountability for their actions, apologized and made the guards that were responsible face the consequences of their actions as well.

Thanks for reinforcing that the PDRC take accountability.

Now if the red shirts only did the same thing we might not need reform as everyone will accept the consequences of their actions.

Lets hope the PTP take a leaf out of the PDRC book when the NACC and court reflect their findings.

Well done Fab4 and thanks for inadvertently highlighting that 15 principle supporters actually respect accountability.

so the Buddhist Festival of Wesak approaches and the fake monk is in meditation? no??

maybe a retreat from secular life? no??

our dear Pra Buddha (can you believe that name?) Issara is deeply involved with politics and leads a gang of thugs who will determine who can go into a Court and who cannot

you could not make it up...

a case of "the Monk, the Court and the Bizarre"

He reminds me a lot of Kittivudho Bhikkhu. Remember 6 October, 1976.

Why is this so-called monk permitted to be involved with politics? He is breaking monastic rules and should be disciplined accordingly.

The monk Buddha Issara is involved in democratic anti-government protests similar as this region has seen before, like in Myanmar, Vietnam and so.
