CHIANG MAI: -- Deposed Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra is now relaxing in Chiang Mai with her son under tight security protection.

She was accompanied by former Commerce Minister Boonsong Teriyapirom to Chiang Mai

She was seen visiting a department store and had lunch with her son Sunday.

Ms Yingluck was removed from office after the Constitutional Court ruled that she was guilty of power abuse in connection with the unlawful transfer of National Security Council (NSC) chief Thawil Pliensri to inactive post as advisor to the prime minister.

She did not resign the DM, she sent for clarification from her legal office, i'm sure they will find there is nothing that prevents her from continuing her position as DM, until a new cabnet is sworn in after the election.

My uneducated opinion is that she is probably relieved not to be the prime minister anymore. A job I would guess she never wanted and we certainly know, she wasn't prepared for. Take one for the Gipper or big brother.
