The democratic role model of Thailand who has never answered questions from the opposition, never had a debate with anyone and has spend 1 TRILLION baht without any form of transparency is now relaxing. Relaxing from what? Stealing money? Facilitating crimes?

Good for her, she deserves a break after all the misogynistic vitriole that's been directed at her over the last few months. The fact she has remained dignified and never resorted to the same level as some of her accusers is to her credit.

and thats just on TV.

Yingluck relaxes in Chiang Mai

CHIANG MAI: -- Deposed Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra is now relaxing in Chiang Mai with her son under tight security protection.

She was accompanied by former Commerce Minister Boonsong Teriyapirom to Chiang Mai

She was seen visiting a department store and had lunch with her son Sunday.

Ms Yingluck was removed from office after the Constitutional Court ruled that she was guilty of power abuse in connection with the unlawful transfer of National Security Council (NSC) chief Thawil Pliensri to inactive post as advisor to the prime minister.

This is what she does best.

I was wondering why the current caretaker PM would accompany her. I can only assume he doesn't have a Skype account (yet).

More likely, Thaksin wants to maintain the existing chain of command, lest the incumbent starts getting independent ideas, a la Samak.

Maybe it's because she's a woman and archived so much more than posters on here that she is subjected to this abuse.

Really ! A short break and spend a bit of time with the family makes the news and the yellows find something negative.

Perhaps because she lives a life of luxury while her rice scam has caused financial hardship and misery to thousands. How many have committed suicide due to rice scam induced poverty?

Why is it even news?

What has she actually achieved? Her career appears to have been supported by nepotism, not ability.

Yeeaah. Let her relax before the criminal charges related to the 1 trillion baht spending mess kick in.

Exactly bkkjames!

Why?

Just have a look at some of the posts from the yellow brigade.

They go off their heads every time she's mentioned in the news

Don't see many of them posting on the van guard stabbed to near death in front of his pregnant wife for running over the yellows cone by mistake.

Oh hang on I neatly turned into one of them!

Well lemme ask you this.. If she is not defense minister then who the hell is? That other guy became the new PM, the country has a Defense Minister at all times, it is never vacant.. She did not resign the DM, she sent for clarification from her legal office, i'm sure they will find there is nothing that prevents her from continuing her position as DM, until a new cabnet is sworn in after the election.

Yea well keep up the Yingluck bashing..

btw who was the Defense Minister again? oh right Yingluck is still the defense minister, the CC's ruling does not ban her from caretaker DM or for the upcoming quorum, where she will face an impeachment hearing in the senate once the election is over and she is party list candidate#1 and then the impeachment process will fail to get 3/5s for impeachment, then she will be PM again with full powers, so might as well hold onto that DM portfolio, since she aint goin nowhere

hi mr grown up..if shes defense minister still why she on holiday and sorting out that awful mess her brother made worse..coffee1.gif

So all the others involved in the decision lost their Minister positions, but she didn't because she had 2 jobs? Which part of EFF OFF don't you understand?

Is she still the Chair of the Rice Policy Committee? Or any other position she failed to bother with?

Good question. If she is Defence Minister, why is she swanning around a Chiang Mai shopping mall as opposed to being at her desk consulting with the military and other departments, seeing as Mr Jatuporn is threatening Civil War if certain events don't go his way?

Some may say she's enjoying a well earned rest others might think she's abandoned any post she had. This country is in crisis mode and she's shopping?

Well, Chalerm is still doing his job at CAPO, she didn't loose it because the court didn't order her to step down from it.

You really want to use Chalerm as an example leading to a logical conclusion? Fired, sacked, clean out your desk, hand over the key to the executive toilet, don't come Monday, don't call us we'll call you - understand?

My uneducated opinion is that she is probably relieved not to be the prime minister anymore. A job I would guess she never wanted and we certainly know, she wasn't prepared for. Take one for the Gipper or big brother.

If she is still the Defence Minister shouldn't someone tell the Army? I'm sure they were under the same impression as the rest of us that the CC ruling stripped the dismissed members of the cabinet of all their authority with immediate effect.
