PDRC denies link to bombs found in Lumpini park

BANGKOK: -- PEOPLE'S DEMOCRATIC Reform Committee (PDRC) leader Thaworn Senneam has denied that explosives found at Lumpini Park on Tuesday belonged to PDRC guards.

He said the Explosives Ordinance inspection after the protesters had left the rally site had been conducted by the police alone with no other observers. Moreover, the PDRC had cleared the site a few days earlier and it was difficult to say to whom the explosives might have belonged.

Meanwhile, Phra Buddha Issara, the monk leading the PDRC rally outside Government Complex on Chaeng Wattana Road, said a guard had caught a woman allegedly spying at the site. The guards claimed the latest M79 attack on the protest site had been on her instruction. They handed the woman over to police.

Commenting on complaints that his security guards had beaten up and injured people, Phra Buddha Issara said he would not defend any wrongdoing.

However, he had no plans to change his security system because he was short of guards at the Chaeng Wattana site. He said his staff had little time to rest and there had been many explosions there. If there were any need for apologies, he would do so on a case by case basis.

He added that he was consulting his lawyer to sue Tarit Pengdith, director of the Department of Special Investigation and secretary of the Centre for the Administration of Peace and Order for malfeasance, for violating the charter's Article 157.

Meanwhile, Phra Buddha Issara said he would postpone his rally scheduled for May 18 calling for power to be returned to His Majesty the King.

He said he was waiting for Suthep Thaugsuban, secretary- general of the PDRC, to run his plan first.

If Suthep's did not succeed, he would launch his own plan.

"Meanwhile, Phra Buddha Issara said he would postpone his rally scheduled for May 18 calling for power to be returned to His Majesty the King." what does it mean?

It means that he has no protesters left, his guards are still holding most of the government complex, but he cannot leave because he has such a small force.

It would be interesting to know where exactly they found the bombs. I mean, they gave the place a thorough clean, and bombs are not the sort of thing one normally just forgets. So I'd like to know if they were found in an obvious or open area, or were they found stashed away somewhere secret where perhaps someone may have forgotten them.

Have a look at this monk!

Now he's got is own plans own thugs and will apologise for his thugs behaviour on a case by case basis.

He's short on guards and short on support and hiding behind a monks robe.

Forget arresting just yet. The first thing that should happen is that he is defrocked and exposed for the fake he is!

The only thugs are the ones commiting murder on a daily basis - grow a brain eh!

Well let's see...either the explosives were there before they occupied the park or they belonged to the "peaceful " PDRC or (and I like this one) tiny little invisible UDD members tip-toed in and put them there. Then there is always the "blame in on the police for planting evidence" story.

Ahuh! Is that what you want me to believe? LOL

You should only believe the police because they always find bombs and weapons AND IDs at the crime scene. So they know exactly who did it. Right?

A normal country would arrest the anarchists.

A normal country would not allow a convicted fugitive fraudster to control the government for starters. Nor would it tolerate a government that openly lied, cheated and broke the law.

A normal country has a justice system that works.

TiT - it ain't normal.

But i guess you would say suthep and that so called monk have not broken the law????? Why has suthep not gone to court over ALL the charges that are against him????? I will tell you why. It is because when he gets his dictatorship with him as the all supreme dictator who would go against then???????

What he was he expecting?!?!? This is how EOD is done - by those who are QUALIFIED. Was he expecting there to be an entourage of media personnel and Suthep groupies? That's how accidents happen.

Articles say bombs and bomb-making materials were stashed and hidden away out of sight.

An arrest warrant Phra Buddha Issara was authorized by the Criminal Court. Will Issara make the police apologize for the warrant or show that he is not above the law and turn himself in? He can always post bond using his alleged deed to his personally-owned wat, promise not to participate in any further anti-government protests, and then go out the next day and lead his protesters with immunity.

You're right! rolleyes.gif

A normal country wouldn't serve an arrest warrant on the guy that has created so much havoc over the past six and then let him out on bail to go and do the same thing all over again? facepalm.gif

In normal countries there are conditions attached to being released on bail and one condition, in particular, would be ( or should be ) don't go and repeat the offence for which you were just arrested.blink.png That should equate to infringement of your bail conditons.

I don't know about land of smiles but it is Alice in Wonderlandcrazy.gif

There was some time between when the protesters left and when the police searched the park. The "explosives" didn't need to be planted by the police, just "found" by them.
