I currently have a 6 month, 3 entry tourist visa, obtained from the UK. Each entry allows me 60 days. I am here on the first of the 3 entries.

I am currently in Phetchabun, the nearest immigration office is not too far, in Phitsonaluk. Does anyone what what would be the maximum I would get as an extension.. is it only 30 days? and if i get an extension does it count as an entry?

I am thinking I may be better off doing a visa run to a border and just getting another 60 days.

Thanks in advance for anyone who can share there knowledge or experiences....

You can get an extension of 30 days. An extension does not count as a new entry.

But with a 6 month validity, it means that all 3 entries you have must be made before the validity of the visa itself ends. So if it is useful depends on how many entries you have left and when the visa expires.

If you enter one day before the visa expire you can still get the full 60 days and can extend that with 30 days.

You can get a 30 day extension of your 60 day entry. It does not count as another entry.

Whether you do the extension or do a border run depends upon the total amount time you plan on staying here. If done correctly you can get almost 9 months of stay from the visa.

Many thanks. I think I will do a border run the next two times and as you say, time the last one to within a day of the visa expiration and get a 60 day followed by a thirty.

Oh, another thing... Does anyone know from recent experience, what is the cost of extension at a immagration office and how many consecutive renewals can I do?

Thanks again!

You can only do one 30 day extension per entry. You can do one for every entry but you need to be sure you use the last entry just before the visa expires.
