Hello everyone. We've recently applied and paid for the visa through the Visa4UK website and have only discovered after submitting the application that one of our visa numbers were incorrect, courtesy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs who decided to give two different visa numbers.

Our party is a full Thai family, and we are going to the UK for tourist purposes. The application process had been otherwise completed and we can't seem to modify it after we've submitted and paid for the application.

Anyways, since our applications are all linked, will this invalidate all our applications? Also, as we've already paid for the applications, will a refund be possible if our party's visa applications are invalidated?

And in the worst case scenario, if we decide to waive the fee and start again, will having two duplicate applications cause us to fail? Thank you in advance!

I'm not sure what you mean by incorrect visa numbers from the MFA, they don't issue visa numbers.

As a general rule however if you make an error in the online application, correct it on the hard copy you submit and refer to the correction in the covering letter.

In which case just do as advised and alter the hard copy of the application and refer to the correction in the covering letter, it will be fine.

Also, has anyone else had the same issue, and how did the embassy respond?

It happens all the time, wrong passport number, incorrect date of birth, any number of typos.

It really is a non issue, though I appreciate your concern. In your case the ECO will have the benefit of the passport with the correct number.

Just to confirm, this is with the printed version of the online application, which we hand in, with a notice not he front acknowledging the errors and corrections? Thank you again for all your help.

Yes, correct the mistake on the hard copy, and refer to the mistake where you believe it will be seen.

The ECO will have the benefit of having the passport with the correct number on it.
