If I apply for a marriage visa extension do I have show twice as much ie. 800,000bht in my account ? as there is two of us me and my Thai wife. Or is it just the 400,00bht or adequate proof of income.

The requirements are regarding you only. Your wife dos not need to meet any requirements to stay in Thailand as she is Thai.

You show an income of 40,000 a month (can be from abroad) OR 400,000 baht in a bank account in Thailand in your name only, for two months.
