GuyL
I wonder whether Conchita Wurst will avoid visiting this island from now on because with such a name, she/he would certainly be a great temptation for local Germanophone sausage eaters of all sorts! Popular Post Benmart
It is unfortunate that these grisly crimes are a springboard for warped attempts at humor. People die and people are the victims of serious crimes. Some people then dig deep into their own pits of darkness and inhumanity to make light of the pain and suffering of others. Truely sad.

Popular Post GuyL
*Deleted post edited out* Pierre Desproges, a French humourist, once said: "We can laugh at anything, but not with anyone."In this case, some among us are making jokes about a rather unusual situation. It's the strangeness of this situation that titillates our sense of humour. It doesn't mean that we don't respect the victims or that we are not sad for their relatives and friends, but it would be hypocritical to say that we feel the same pain as them. Those who practice or enjoy black humour are not necessarily insensitive people. On the contrary: black humour is often a way to diminish the sadness of certain events that would otherwise bring too much sorrow in our heart if they always were to be considered seriously. In my case, I do not want people to be too sad when I die. Actually, it would not bother me the least if my death caused hilarity because it occurred in an unusual situation such as the one described here. But I warn the wannabe cannibals: I've been (and still am) very dirty (especially with the ladies), so you risk serious food poisoning if you eat me, mates! folium
Apologies for bringing some facts to this sad story. But there is absolutely no evidence whatsoever that any form of cannibalism took place in this murder. That was a classic case of sloppy, stereotyping as beloved by the tabloids. For a fuller version of the story have a read of this article from GQ (seems like GQ has some excellent people writing for it): http://www.gq.com/news-politics/newsmakers/201402/arihano-haiti-stefan-ramin-murder-french-polynesia?currentPage=1
