Hello all

I'm new and looking for some help. I've strained my back quite badly, (not for the first time).I need good high strength pain killers, both a NSAID (non steroid anti inflammatory) and something more direct. Which is the best Pharmacy in town to go for advice and over the counter drugs, I speak zero Thai and have no one to translate for me.

thanks in advance for your help.

I am sure someone will come along and suggest cheaper places but Boots is a good place to start if you are new, need advice and can’t speak Thai. In time you may find someplace more convenient but for right now you just need relief with as little hassle as possible.

Recommend that you go to the doctor and get treated. Taking drugs not prescribed in Thailand can be dangerous. Pain killers other than normal paracetamol types are controlled.

You can get Celebrex over the counter at the pharmacy beside the old bud station (is that Boots?).

I think it's "Chiang Rai Drug" Garry, used to be Fascino I seem to recall, before they moved to near the Clock Tower (monstrosity?)

Thanks AjarnP, though I go there when I'm home from overseas, their name eludes me. I have had excellent dealings with them. All the house first aid supplies and then some, as I don't need to go anywhere else at all. :)

By far and away the best pharmacy is the Chinese wholesale place near the entrance tio the Night market across from Pizza Company, 7-11, etc. They have everything, the lady in there speaks very good English, and their prices are excelllent.

You'll know you're in the right place if you can hardly get to the counter for all the boxes.
