Former PM Thaksin's sibling fined for insider trading

So the usual Thai Rouge apologists come out in force, claiming this is sooo normal, nothing to see here, etc. Pathetic!

One side rallies behind those accused of corruption, the other side rallies behind those accused of murder.

Different people have different opinions. Welcome to life!

Being led by a convicted criminal is a bit different to being accused on trumped up charges by some obeying the criminals orders

Shinawatras are accused of both - MANY times more an the other side - Tak bay and drug wars case in point - go read up!!!

Strange comment. Apologists don't have a different opinion. They just try to defend who/what they support. It often results in looking very pathetic. In this thread you could call them Red campaigners.

in the UK people who enrich themselves through corrupt and illegal means; fred the shred, MPs expense fraud (they go to jail in the UK), various actors and musicians dodging tax etc. are vilified. in thailand they are looked up to, respected, even voted into power. its a different mentality.

Monthathip Shinawatra and Somchai Kovitcharoenkul were fined Bt9.67 million for trading with M-Link Asia Corp inside information.

The fact that Yingluck's husband, Anusorn Amornchat is/was president of M.Link, has absolutely nothing to do with this case.

Sources please that each and every one of these have been "demonized" (are you Satanist or something?) by the PTP.

Or your post is BS, like the majority of your posts.

Are you demonizing the securities council? I only add if you or the PTP demonize...

Come on..I will quote Nike here..

"Just do it"

Your posts make no sense.

Where did the Puea Thai party demonize "global economists" or "AoT" or "business owner".

Those definitions don't even make sense, much less what you are trying to say.

Are you on the free WiFi from the pub or something?

Your challenging me that the PTP don't demonize these entities by belittling me at the end of your post with your wifi quip!

It reminds me of when Somchai Srisuthiyakorn described the red shirts as rude, low and wild and there reaction was….Yep, you guessed it. It was a rude, low and wild reaction proving Somchai right.. They are not the smartest group that "3rd hand" that represent 7% of the population.

Anyway since the martial law has brought groups together and achieved so much more in 40 hours than the PTP have in 7 months I will make a deal.

I will start linking posts or OP's to each entity in my lists. Since this list has been a 3 year project and I have added as the opportunity represents itself will only start with the beauty pageant and go from there as I will not imitate Tarit as the lap dog of anyone.

In the name of reconciliation I hope my dove of peace is accepted by you.

You spent 3 years creating a list that is barely 2 lines long yet have no evidence at all to support even 1 of the items on it?

I am itching to add "The Securities and Exchange Commission" to the below list..They are probably the only entity in Thailand that the PTP / Shin's have not demonized yet!!!

Please PTP / Shin's (who are hiding in a safe house or in yinglucks case hiding on the border ready to flee)…Please demonize them. Please denounce them. Please call them biased.

TVF members, please do the same. Let me add one more to the growing list. It has been 4 days since the beauty pageant…Come on guys!!!

The Thai beauty patent judges, the World bank, Moody's, UNHCR, Human Rights Watch, the Environmentalists, the corn farmer, rubber farmers, rice farmers, medical association, rural teachers, academics, Supa, global economists, IMF, private banks, GSB, the EC, AoT, the courts, military, bangkok middle class, business owner, state enterprise staff, Buddhist monks, civil servants, labor unions, Green Politics group, Thai Constitution Protection Association, The Thai press, NIDA poll, Bangkok Poll.

Just to call BS on the first item on your list.

"Thai Beauty Patent Judges".

You probably meant "Pageant", not "Patent".

And it was not the judges who "demonized" the Puea Thai Party, it was ONE of the contestants.

Again, just to show what kind of BS you are posting.

However English is not always the first language of our members so don't waste space correcting other members' grammar and spelling where it isn't necessary.

Great my spell check was out..Woppy.

BTW - Go to Jatuporns page and see what he says as well as his "fans" (not girlfriends) say about this girl.

You are so good at belittling, but unable to articulate a constructive positive response to any of my posts

Not one.

So I assume the dove of peace is not accepted because you cannot accept facts?

More like selective memory from a Thai Rouge apologist.

Apparently NOT educating farmers so they can be self sufficient is ok to Shannon because Vietnamese farmers have a GDP of 9900 baht!!!

That is PTP logic right there.

Both agreed to settle the violation with the fine. Monthathip is to pay a fine of Bt7.86 million while Somchai Bt1.8 million.

I bet they agreed to settle! See post 18 on this thread. These two got off very lightly. There is no point hitting a Shinclan member in the pocket and thinking it will hurt. Their pockets are too deep and they will find a way to get the money back from the Thai people at a substantially increased return rate.

Will this story get a run on Thai Television (the stations that are still allowed to broadcast,) or will it be "pulled" because it might spark unrest amongst both sides of the political divide?

Ah questions, questions....and another one.... Could the stations that are currently OFF AIR, apply to the Military to start broadcasting again, provided they DON'T carry ANY Political material, even News reports?

I do feel for the employees (on BOTH sides) who will suffer, because the stations have had their ability to generate revenue taken away and I suspect the STAFF will be the first to feel the pinch.

Penalty in Thailand for insider trading is too lenient when compared to other developed markets.

Perhaps the dumb move was made realizing such! Afterall, it's other people's money that's cashed in. No one cares about the small investors who have lost a bundle in the process!

Many stock movements in the SET, you can feel insider trading prior to their earning reports or some extraordinary events. Of course, it's in hindsight! But, in this case, it's done too vividly!

No matter how much money you make or have if your a low life, your just a low life with money. Any gains you make without ethics are going to be short-lived.

When reading stories like this, one can only marvel at how well Thaksin has been able to pedal himself and his family as the voice of the common man. There is absolutely nothing in the world of the Shinawatra family that bears the slightest resemblance or connection in any shape or form with the typically struggling and dirt-poor family in Isaan. No stocks to appraise there - no tips to bag millions. No sprees to Macy's. No auctions to peruse at Sotheby's. No Lamborghini to sample. No, Udon Thani has bought it - hook, line, and sinker. And it would take twelve Freuds to figure that out.

i think that shoukd read "conman"not "common"?

Can you imagine all the insider trades in Thailand? Just think about what you know about Thailand's inside power establishment/elite and you can take a wild guess. No foreign investment manager of sound mind would be investing other people's money in Thailand.

The entire Thai stock market is set up to enable insider trading.

on the 30baht health care scheme they bought it as its saved their lives with cheaper health care .as an example HIV sufferers could get medication for 30 baht instead of paying 15,000 a month which they wouldnt have in the first place ,so they carried on living instead of dying a slow death all thanks to Mr Thaksin who saved numerous lives .

so many owe their lives to mr Thaksin and thats why they love him so much in isaan .

the opposition didnt like him for giving the poor 30 bahts health care as they would prefer them to suffer in pain

insider trading goes on all over the world in London and the US
