Belgian Man Rescued from Locked Car After Fan Drains Battery
In a peculiar and tense situation, a Belgian man found himself trapped inside his car after the battery drained, rendering the doors inoperable. The incident unfolded at a gas station in Kamphaeng Phet Province, where the man had taken a short nap after a long drive. Around 2:00 a.m. on August 7, 2014, officers from the Kamphaeng Phet News Image Rescue Foundation received an urgent call from a concerned convenience store employee. The employee had noticed the man trapped inside a locked red BMW and promptly sought assistance. The rescue team swiftly arrived at the scene to find the car doors unresponsive due to an entirely drained battery. Inside, the 40-year-old Belgian tourist was visibly distressed and weakened. Rescue officers repeatedly tried to instruct the man to press the unlock button, but their efforts proved futile without a functional electrical system. As time ticked on and the man’s condition visibly worsened due to stifling heat and plummeting oxygen levels, the rescuers made the tough decision to break the car window. Smashing the glass was the only viable option to prevent any further danger to the man’s health. Thankfully, the quick intervention worked, and the foreigner emerged from the vehicle, albeit feeble and faint from the ordeal. The Belgian tourist, who had journeyed from Chiang Rai to Chonburi, explained that he had parked at the gas station to rest, allowing the fan to run while he slept. Unfortunately, the fan’s continuous operation drained the car’s battery completely. Feeling trapped, he struggled to escape until the convenience store employee noticed his plight and alerted the authorities. The entire operation lasted nearly two hours, but thanks to the diligent efforts of the rescuers, the man was ultimately guided to safety. After receiving immediate assistance, including provisions from the tourist police, he was able to continue his journey, much relieved and wiser. Using an overseas Debit Card to minimise paying tax for those of us staying over 180 days
only has to read certain categories as the revenue folks wouldn't care about most comments - but anything dealing with taxes, income, wouldn't take many people - probably one could do it. I am not suggesting that they are doing it, only that could be possible. I think by now they have to realize that expats here are watching closely to see what the latest tax collection scheme will be. In the last couple of days the govt has announced that they want to entice skilled people to live and work here especially Thais working in other countries. Obviously it will be interesting to see if they announce publically lower or no taxes on those folks - especially since it would upset expats which they seem to like doing. Have a good one. -

What are the best ways to meet other expats?
I don't avoid other falang out of spite, I've met too many that just want to vent AT you rather than enjoy a decent conversation.....maybe I should loosen up, but I have a family here and I don't feel like standing around with them at the local Tesco while some miserable old bastard bitches about all their problems lol. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me....one time I was griped at on the BTS about the lack of dart games in the bars of BKK and the "liberal <deleted>" wondering around from America.... I'll try to be a little more open in the future, but honestly, I'm a prick in America too🤣 -

Criticism Following Robert Jenrick's Remarks on Arresting Individuals Chanting Allahu Akba
This is very true. Unfortunately it is also the last words spoken by Islamic terrorists when they stab someone, cut off their head or explode a bomb that kills innocents, so people are naturally quite wary when it is spoken out loud on the streets. Aren't there thousands of Mosques in the UK where people can tell their imaginary sky wizard/witch how great he or she is if that brings them comfort? -

He has leverage to hold out and not play and demand to get traded to some team that will meet his price. I just gave examples of WR's that have done just that. -

Criticism Following Robert Jenrick's Remarks on Arresting Individuals Chanting Allahu Akba
accusing someone of Islamaphobia is an excellent example of 'gaslighting'. the Islamic cancer has spread into the very infrastructure of Britain, the brits are watching their island being taken away while Muslims accuse them of being 'islamaphobic'. meanwhile they are shutting down London on a weekday for their Muslim celebration to pray in the streets and parade with Arabic flags to sounds of Allah akbar. it's a hijacking of the highest order -

Criticism Following Robert Jenrick's Remarks on Arresting Individuals Chanting Allahu Akba
Christians arrested, and convicted, for praying silently in their own head but screaming 'Allahu Akbar' is racist...welcome to the multicultural UK in 2024. BTW saying ‘Allahu Akbar’ in quiet prayer is perfectly acceptable but when groups of young Muslim men are screaming it on the streets...it's a warcry.
