For a no-brainer, cheap, quick and easy nitrogen boost that will green up your lawn in a week or two if you water adequately, try Ammonium sulfate [(NH4)2 SO4] 21-0-0, especially if soil is alkaline (Nitrogen and Sulfur only, but helps to release Calcium from mineral soil). Use about 4.5 kilos per 100 sq meters, spread evenly. Or Urea 46-0-0. (Nitrogen only) (2 kilos per 100) This will give you about 2 lbs of actual nitrogen per 1000 sq feet, higher rate than that might burn. Reduce this rate by half to use 4 times a year, especially with Ya Malasia (burns more easily with high N). Water these in thoroughly right away. A little more complete NPK fertilizer is 15-15-15 or 16-16-16.

But for longer term sustainable growth, learn to build soil fertility with soil analysis, mineralization and organic methods. This is best started in the preparation phase, when you can test the soil and incorporate minerals that are found deficient, and organic matter in the soil before planting. See the lawn care section starting on page 31 in the attached Organic Land Care Standards. This is the most modern and environmentally responsible standard for growing. Ongoing use of high nitrogen chemical fertilizers is not good for long term soil and plant health or groundwater, streams, rivers and lakes.

Slightly off topic, but where in Bangkok can one buy lawn fertiliser? Supermarkets/Home Pro don't stock it, nor do the small local garden centres.
