Thai Respect For 'farang'

My general modus operandi:

When walking directly in front of someone, especially if it is their 'personal space' out in public, I'll do the small slight duck, combined with a slight increase of walking speed. I do this to be polite (and most do it back regarless of status) and have always done it unconciously, even in the west. (In the same situations Aussies, Kiwi's and Brits probably get all apologetic for getting in the way of people in social sitations...'sorry...yep sorry...excuse me....massive apologies).

The other time I conciously do it, if there is an older relative, friend of the family etc say sitting on the couch and I need to walk in front of them. I'll stoop down as much possible while still being able to walk.
