Tourist visa "reference person in Thailand"?

Featured Replies

Ok, as mentioned on a previous thread, I'm looking at getting a 2 entry tourist visa.

(US citizen living in Florida)

I've been going over the application form, and I have a question.

In block 5, it asks for a "Reference person and address in Thailand".

Since I am going as a tourist, I don't know anyone in Thailand. (Well, I do I suppose, but nobody well enough to have a last name/address for, and I don't suppose putting down "Nit at Bubbles A-Go-Go" is going to win me any points with the people who would approve my visa) laugh.png

At any rate, do I leave it blank, make something up, put the name/address of the US embassador?

Thank you!

Looks little different than the one they use in Europe, but I helped a friend get a Visa in Germany and what I was told this by the Thai Embassy

- reference person (for you in the US) could be either the address of the travel agency booking your flight or hotel OR actually just write "Internet" when you booked online

(the Schengen form asks for "Name and Address of Local Guarantor / address of travel agency")

- reference person in Thailand would be a local Guarantor, specially if you would live privately with friends and NOT have a hotel booking.

For my friend we put

- the hotel address in section 4

- "Internet booking" in section 5 (US reference person)

- "none" in section 5 (Thai reference person)

Together with the copy of the flight and hotel bookings, processing time was 1 hour in the Embassy in Stuttgart (personal visit)

Hope this helps?

The Reference person is yourself and the address is your hotel

"self"
