...and I don't know how to stop them. The only veterinarian here is off because it's Sunday.

My friends have suggested:

Stick a glob of mustard down his throat (no, because he might throw up and choke to death)

Scare the sh*t out of him (tried that already by jumping out of the closet stark-naked but he seemed to find that amusing)

Spray his muzzle with mace (no way--that's just too cruel and I don't have any mace anyway)

Bite his ear until he bleeds (can't even think of that--he'll remember and hate me forever and maybe bite me back)

Let him have a 'short-time' with a bitch in heat (looked around my 'hood but didn't find any that were even semi-attractive)

Any suggestions will be appreciated. I've attached a photo of my dog (taken between hiccups)...

No more papaya salad for Fido !

Thanks but he hasn't had any papaya for at least a week. Yesterday he was shredding old coconut husks--not eating them but ripping them to bits--maybe he's 'brushing his teeth'??? But I don't think that has any connection to his hiccups...

chiang mai--thanks for the link. I never knew that hiccups could last for 48 hours (or more).

The klong behind my house is running big-time with fresh, clean water and I'm gonna take him for a swim with me. Maybe that will stop the hiccups...
