Income tax exempted for buyers of health insurances to parents

The cabinet has resolved to exempt income tax for people who buy health insurances for their parents.

Deputy government spokesman Chalermchai Mahakijsiri (เฉลิมชัย มหากิจศิริ) said the amount exempted must not exceed 15,000 baht.

The cabinet also decided to exempt income tax for employers who buy health insurances for their employees and families, Mr. Chalermchai said.

He said the exemption would slightly affected revenue collection but at the same time would help reduce state budget allocated for medical treatment and health protection.
