What!!! blink.pngshock1.gif The baht bus co-operative are complaining about corruption??? Pot calling the kettle black jumps to mind.

Maybe they are getting in early before the drivers are all called in to a session like the motorcycle taxis have. They will have read about Phuket and Democracy Monument being given the once over by the new sheriff and his crew.

The focus should be on an efficient, safe, and POLITE service that actually meets the public transport NEEDS of the greater public and also provides better GEOGRAPHICAL COVERAGE. For their BUSES (which would rather be taxis, so schizoid) and their TAXIS (which need to become actual taxi meters).

Is it not time for a total RESTRUCTURING of the entire Pattaya public transport system?thumbsup.gif

Much is good but much is very bad. I would hardly ask the company that runs the system about this ... their focus is their territory protection, not actually SERVING the public better. Foxes guarding the chicken coop , eh?

Pattaya hopes to be a WORLD CLASS beach resort tourism city that is actually PLEASANT for tourists without private transport (not to mention residents). But no taxi meters. That doesn't add up. It's a big city now ... do like Bangkok, get real taxi meters ... and help the city GROW UP.

Sure there is good coverage in the beach areas with baht buses ... but that should just be a start of a comprehensive system.
