NACC: probes looking into rice scheme corruption still on the way

BANGKOK, 30 June 2014 (NNT) – The National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) is compiling evidence and documents related to the alleged corruption in the rice pledging scheme initiated by two former governments.

NACC secretary-general Sansern Poljiak has revealed that there is the probe ongoing and that the sub-committee responsible for this case is compiling information to see whether there are actual facts to judge any wrongdoing by any persons. By August, it is expected to have more concrete details.

Meanwhile, the rice scheme corruption case against the government of former Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva is also being processed, but has been delayed due to inadequate evidence for judgment.

The rice industry is endemically corrupt. As is rubber and sugar.

Why does anyone believe otherwise? The farmer gets screwed to varying degrees no matter who is in power.

And what about palm oil, also corn and tapioca? What is NOT 'endmically corrupt' in the LoS?

Wouldn't it be that the NACC wants to be able to use all the new evidence that is floating up, now that the military are 'assisting' the police and the officials (there is no worse blind than the one who does not want to see...) in the inspections? Thank you again General, Sir!

Pick a crop, any crop, and you will find cartel practices. Thailand has the illusion of a free market for the farmer selling his product.

Personally don't care who's side someone is on corruption is corruption. There is plenty of corruption going

on in Thailand. All of it should be investigated and if there is a case it should be prosecuted to the full extent

of the law. End of story. coffee1.gif

doesnt matter which side is guilty as long as they are investigated fairly. We already know that a lot of the ptp evidence against abhisit was all bullsh*t and innuendo, this is half the problem , how do you prove something when the evidence is not there. If there is hard evidence go for it but the problem is a lot of the accusations are just fallacy, put in place by the ptp to try to get the dems on board with what the ptp wanted to do but of course the red apologists will deny all this and accuse the courts of bias as that is easier than to admit the truth that the ptp were prepared to do what ever it took to gain any advantage. Corruption has no place in politics , everyone should be treated equally and the evidence followed through to the end.

I think you will also find the Democrats scheme for all farmers was nothing like the PTP model , all they are doing is just checking the books make sure everything is above board and making sure there are no favouritism.
