Sad news if one considers what it took to get their hands on this evil.

Plain law enforcement thats all, no wars, no extra bla bla executions, just plain 9-5 policing militairy style!

Taken into consideration that in 2013 in all around the same amount a year has been 'discovered' one wonders what happened @the office.

Maybe now you understand why i am so sad.

But will be happy again when reform has taken place.(i hope!)

I do not believe in those figures, they are all made up - which undermines the whole campaign. Or lies, lies, lies as public relations exercise

Hasn't the Junta closed down your red community radio station yet?

There there. Denial is the first stage. I'm sure you still can find some madness pills to feed your habit. Will be more expensive though. biggrin.png

attachicon.gifIMG_0933.JPG Great news. My wife's 25 year old cousin who had just got her degree in accountancy had started a career in banking had it all wiped out. The evil that did it was her neighbor who was 16 year old boy high on yaba who shred her to pieces with a machete. This act of madness has ruined my wife's family and yes has also affected mine. Yes I think madness pills is a apt name for this evil drug and I hope the military wipe it out .

What a beautiful young women and such a tragedy. I am sorry to read this and my condolences go to you.

I too hope they have success with this drug issue, but unfortunately I don't have much faith as globally the trend has been an increase in drug supply and use as far as I can tell.

"Madness Pills"!

I spoke to my heart specialist today about this and apparently yaba means ya - "pill" and ba is "mad" or "crazy"

Dreadful drugs if you ask me and I think the name is correct. You would have to be crazy to try them.

Thank you. The reason I put her picture on here (she would not have liked that) was to personalize what drugs can do. This girl was called Aoy but she could be your wife girlfriend or daughter. Its just no one knows but I have noticed on my trips to south Thailand is how many kids are using drugs in the villages it seems to be every where.

It certainly seems as if the military are indeed somewhat more vigorous in the pursuit of narcotics than the police were.

The frightening figures are 400.kg of ice and 300.kg of heroin. The Marijuana haul at 20.kg is but a flea bite compared to those more dangerous substances.

Coupled to a not insignificant haul of ordinance and one presume some 222 sticks of dynamite and some 1,000 other types of explosives it is a good start to matters.

One can but presume either someone is singing like a canary or the military are actually doing what the police themselves could or would not do due to orders from a higher level or possible police personnel involvement by retired or serving personnel, resident locally or in foreign parts or just plain involvement in criminal matters to enhance their income..

The military are not "somewhat more vigorous in the pursuit of narcotics than the police were". It's just people like you and the various media that hype up each reported "success" as some miraculous occurrence that has only happened due to the munificence of the junta.

A cursory google throws up some examples of "normal" policing, pre-coup;

25, Oct 2013 BANGKOK:Police say they have arrested three suspects and confiscated 5.3 million tablets of methamphetamine in one of the largest such seizures in the country in recent years. http://www.ann7.com/article/4387-2510201325102013thailand-police-seize-5-million-methamphetamine-pills.html

397880349-125392349_1.jpg See that sign?

Thailand police seize 5 million Methamphetamine pills

Another "bust";

RANONG, 26 March 2014 Police bust drug trafficking ring, seizing over 147 kilograms of heroin

http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/714053-thai-police-bust-drug-trafficking-ring-seizing-over-147-kilograms-of-heroin/#entry7611692

Some Ice;

PHITSANULOK, March 9, 2011 -- Police in the northern province of Phitsanulok seized 2.6 million pills of methamphetamine, 'Ya Ba', and 102 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine hydrochloride, 'ice', with an estimated street value of more than Bt1 billion.

It's not that unusual.
