Mae Sai & Mae Khaem Reservoirs to be Built to Prevent Future Floodings

Phrae is working on its plan to build Mae Sai (แม่สาย) and Mae Khaem (แม่แคม) reservoirs which are part of its flood prevention measures.

Phrae governor Athikhom Supannapong (อธิคม สุพรรณพงศ์) said each reservoir costs 300 million baht and each has a storing capacity of 15 million cubic metres of water.

The province and the Royal Irrigation Department are working together on the expropriation of land and paying of compensation for affected people, Mr. Athikhom said.

The projects were approved by the cabinet on May 30, this year.
