July 3, 201412 yr Hey guys, i have an O visa based on marriage. it is due to expire 9th July. my last visa stamped upon entry still has 2 months to run i am going home to UK soon for holiday for 3 weeks, then will come back, and my visa stamp will have expired, so i will enter on a tourist visa. i will then have to apply for another O visa based on marriage, in hua hin i am thinking this - if i do a visa run now before my O visa expires on 9th July, i will get a 3 month stamp. i will then get a pass out (i forget the term sorry) that will allow me to leave thailand and re-enter without cancelling my 3 month stamp. this will allow me to go to UK, return whilst still on a O visa, and apply for my marriage visa, with my O visa still active my question is this - is it easier for me to get a marriage visa (i have the seasoned funds) whilst on a O visa already, than whilst being on a tourist visa or does it not make any difference to the application?
July 3, 201412 yr I think what you are saying you want is to get an extension based on marriage. That is not a new visa. It's an extension of your permission to stay. Easier on a currently valid Non Imm O visa or extension. I'd suggest getting the new 90 days, then going to an immigration office and getting a re-entry permit. 1000 baht for a single entry. When you return from your trip, if your money has been in the bank long enough, you can go back to immigration and do an extension for 1 year.
July 4, 201412 yr It is easier to apply for an extension (not a visa) while having a non-O visa entry. Get a new entry and the re-entry permit before you go to the UK as you suggested yourself.
