so the powers that be poisoned them. but it doesnt look like anyone is going to remove all the dead bodies. the whole beach area stinks of rotting rats.

There are lots of stray cats around but for some reason not around the beach. If they could somehow convince the cats to hang around the beach the rat problem would disappear rather quickly.

Then it would smell of cat piss and cat turd.

They should just have done with the whole pattaya beach concept and cement over it, put bar tables on it sponsored by 7/11 or family mart.

The usual.

Complaining about rats when they're alive.

Complaining about rats when they're dead.

Even complaining about hypothetical cats' piss and poo.

The powers that be have done a wonderful job as usual. We should be grateful and thank them.

if you do not eliminate the reason for having this big population of rats it would be nearly useless!

main reason (I guess): the vast amount of available food!

(and big housing space )

within some weeks, thousands of rats will immigrate from the neighborhood to this paradise !

I thought this was about the kind of beach rats which are rounded up every 2 months or so and after having paid a fine they are released again. tongue.png

Oh we wouldn't want that. It might even be be detectable over the smell of garbage and rat turd. If only there was some sand around there that cats would bury that stuff in. Yea better off having rats running around shitting and pissing all over the place.

Are we sure that these are normal rats and not desert rats?

There seems to be an infestation of desert rats in Thailand at this moment in time.

How old are they? the 7th Amoured division was disbanded in the 1950's...

I can see the confusion that is being caused here.

The desert rats that I am referring to are the rodent type (clawed warriors).

I do know that Dr. Wills was in Pattaya last week for a seminar on these splendid creatures, so I just presumed that the rats in this story could have been desert rats.

Also, I'm getting unconfirmed reports that Richard Gere has been spotted in Patts.

On the other hand, the desert rats that you are referring to are chuffing heroes.thumbsup.gifclap2.gif

Did you go to Dr Will's very interesting lecture on desert rats and their interaction with homo Sapiens ?.... one suspects it would have been full of interesting information ?

Did Richard Gere give the keynote address ?

Unfortunately I was given some watering cans to polish as a punishment from Gordon Ramsey, so I was unable to attend the seminar.

However, during my lunch break I did manage to stack 3 cigarettes on end, so the whole day was not wasted.

The only way to get rid of the rats is to get rid of all the hawkers on the beach and put out some trash barrels not for decoration but to actually take trash then fine anyone littering 500 baht. But of course that all make too much sense.

theres plenty of trash containers, but they are for the businesses across the road to dump there trash in and arent easy to use. I dont mind the rats particularly, they can be entertaining, but if they are going to poison them they need to organize a corpse collection as well. maybe they thought the umbrella and jetski people would do it but thats not going to work.
