Transfer stamps from old passport to new passport.

Featured Replies

I have two questions to ask on the transferring of stamps from old passport to new passport.

I will be getting a new passport very soon. I have a one Extension of Stay stamp and a Multiple Re-Entry Permit stamp.

Will they transfer both the stamps - meaning the Extension of Stay and also the Multiple Re-Entry Permit.

Have I to apply in two different set of forms.

If so, will the two stamps look the same as the original types.

Your kind advice is much appreciated.

Thanking you all in advance.

The will do an annotation of your visa entry that you have been extending, your most recent extension of stay and re-entry permit.

The stamps will look the same.

Depending on your nationality, you may or may not automatically get a letter from your embassy asking that the relevant immigration department transfer both the extension and multiple re-entry permit stamps.

Some Thai Immigration Departments require this letter, some will do the transfer without..

Just go ask at your local Thai immigration dept., there are no forms that I am aware of to request the transfer.

Oddly enough there is a form called "transfer of stamps to new passport form" that can be downloaded here:

But the forms I have seen are for Immigration at Bangkok or Chiang Mai.

Can I do transfer to new pp at Amnat Charoen Immigration?

Have done my yearly extensions (retirement & mariage) there the last five years end of December.

You can transfer your stamps at Amnat. In fact that is the only place you can do it.

I used this form here in Ubon without problem. http://www.immigration.go.th/nov2004/download/pdf/transferstamp.pdf

It is addressed to Bangkok immigration. Not all offices have their own form.
