I experience blood coming with semen on last sunday,

at first i was planning to visit chularat 3 hospital where i always visited for my urological problems but their doctors will only be there one day in a week. thus I went to the hospital website to make appointment with Dr Viroj (because he is widely recommended here) , and without any confirmation i went to the hospital expecting they accept walk in for Dr, Viroj.

Upon my arrival, (as this is my first time visit, i was ask to do registration,etc....) then i went to the urology department and hopping to get walk in consult by Dr. VIroj, however the nurse said that the Dr's appointment is full and only treat appointed patient only.

Thus I was redirect to be treated by Dr. Sanguanchai, nice man. I told him about my condition and he ask me to do urine test to check is there blood in my urine. so i took in and wait for 45 mins.

after getting the result. the doctor said that is not a big deal, i got inflammatory in my reproductive system. I ask will it related to any prostate diseases and do they have any screening for prostate cancer. the doctor said i was too young (25y.o) and does not need mri screening since it is my first time having the condition. so he prescribe me some med and told me to rest and see if there are any changes after one week. but he doesnt specified any cause that caused that condition.

After that i went for payment and taking the meds. this what shocked me the most. it cost 4***thb in total. and the just the meds cost 2900 thb and one of the med are vitamin C which looks like those they give to kids, is quite expensive for me tho.

so now i am resting and taking the medicine and pray that my condition didn't get worse.

here are some of my question,
1) are there any urologist in bangkok that is reliable and cheaper thn Bumrungrad?

2) is that really less possibility for guys in my age having any prostate cancer?

3) what should i be worried for what i experience ? like what kind of health problem will come with that.

4) are there anyone that experience the same problem with me?

5) and will this caused by some STD virus or etc? despite that i been having protected sex and being with the same partner for 2 years.

oh ya, some info for ppl who don't know and plan to visit Dr, Viroj

-do wait for the confirmation from the hospital website before you go. ( i just got the appointment result that i sent on Sunday today by email which state that they recommend me other doctor for me instead of Dr Viroj)

-and Dr Viroj does not accept walk in. (since his schedule is full)

Prostate cancer is indeed extremely rare at your age.

Blood in semen is usually due to infection. See http://www.mayoclinic.org/symptoms/blood-in-semen/basics/causes/sym-20050603 http://www.webmd.com/men/guide/blood-in-semen-hematospermia-causes-symptoms-tests-treatments

It often comes for no known reason and in men under 40 will often disappear on its own.

Re the cost, your mistake was in purchasing meds from the hospital -- never do that, unless there are controlled substances involved. The mark up for medications is as much as 5 fold at private hospitals.

Minus the meds, sounds like you paid less than 2000 baht for specialist consultation and tests, which seems normal to me for a private hospital.

Next time, make a note of the medications, tell the cashier you already have them, get it deducted from your bill and buy them at a pharmacy. Or, if the doctor is willing, have him tell you what meds he recommends and not prescribe them through the hospital to begin with.

Yeah the doctor also told me is due to infection, but infected by what?

and i am confuse by the article, is inflammation cause by gonorrhea and chlamydia ? or is it caused by bacterial infection? are they different ? inflammation cause by std and inflammation caused by bacterial infection?

do you suggest i need to go to get test for gonorrhea and chlamydia ?

The last time I went to a urologist, he said i could "go" any time now,,,,laugh.png

When I was younger, I had some blood with semen....however, it was just from squeezing way to tight while choking my chicken, it healed itself a few days later.

e-coli from the bowel, or cooking raw chicken at home, believe it or not , if it's UTI, prostatitis might be more "insidious" in etiology and presentation....

But I found no blood in urine, or even in urine test, so I dun think is UTI.
