To the OP

The Human Rights Declaration states " The family is the natural and fundamental group unit of society and is entitled to protection by society and the State." Basically kicking you out of the country because you got no money is against your wife's and children's rights, because they have the right to stay in their country with their husband/father even if you are not able to economically support them.

You can find more details about the meaning of this in here http://www.hrea.org/index.php?base_id=158

Maybe some Human Rights organizations can help you.

In any case good luck to you and your family

They are not kicking out/ blacklist an overstayer because he don't have money. It's because he didn't follow the immigration law.

Apparently the visa regulations do not necessitate funds when acquiring a multi-entry non-imm o based on marriage/kids/etc ( http://www.mfa.go.th/main/en/services/123/15398-Issuance-of-Visa.html ) . However embassies seem to require them as is their right with "additional documents".

Since they are clearing it up, a word to the embassies to stop asking for funds for multi non-o's would pretty much solve the "I don't have the funds" problem and let current overstayers get legit. This seems to be the case in Savannakhet and I suspect the lines there are going to get longer.

The TVF visa section now has a few new questions about how to get a non-imm o based on marriage, so I suppose some have been married but still using exemptions/TR's/overstayed.

Having money, it's easy to stay within the law. Not so easy without.

Most people with little money have no problem to stay within the law.

And if he can afford a house and a car, then he is not without money

Hi. Just a small parenthesis about that :

I know a guy who live in Thailand for ~15 years, married with Thai lady, 2 children.

He must be about 45 yo and stopped working more than 10 years ago.

He has no official revenues and not even sure he has a bank account in his name!

He would have big difficulties today to get an Extension... sad.png

but he lives in a very big and beautiful villa with a large garden, a big swimming pool,

nice European cars, several employees (cleaning, cooking, gardening,...).

Happen that his wife is from a rather wealthy family

and that her Dad take great care of her smile.png

Ok, no worry for him, he always will have a legal way to stay here wink.png

but just to say that there are many farang/thai families where revenues

are far to be the farang revenues only, or even mainly.

Some Farangs live here very well with nearly nothing they earn or they own.

It could be logical that Immigration ask for "the family revenues" rather than "the Farang ones"...
