Banks closed on Buddhist holidays ?

I assumed they would be but I have a Thai woman telling me everything is open today and tomorrow (Asalha Bucha and Buddhist Lent) except the bars - anyone ?

Today in an official Bank of Thailand holiday. That doesn't mean all banks are closed as some in malls, etc. will be open.

Central bank declares August 11 extra holiday

BANGKOK: -- The Bank of Thailand today announced Monday August 11 an extra holiday for financial institutions.

The extra holiday announced on a special basis is aimed at supporting the policy of the National Council for Peace and Order to promote tourism and stimulate economic growth, it said.

All banks in malls are open 364 days a year . The only closing day *officially is new years day
