Hysterically expensive thing, but also the sort of device you could make out of an old ice cream tub for nothing.

Good idea for us UWA shooters!

That looks very much like the compendium bellows shades for the Hasselblad system. I have a few of them. Infinitely adjustable. Cheap,as chips on eBay now.

^^^ I used to use this on my old 500ELM ages ago! Back then it cost heaps more than

the eBay offer of 35 USD! Great deal if you don't mind the eBay risks IMO.

Working in motion pix & TV spoiled me though...today it's Chrosziel or nada....link below...

http://www.chrosziel.com/

To me Chrosziel are simply the best...no pun on the Tina Turner song intended.

Video, DSLR stills/video, 35mm & 70mm film...etc...etc...etc...Chrosziel do em all

and have much more to offer than anybody else. Fact. Not dreams.

You get what you pay for though...something that doesn't go flop after a couple

years...and you pay a bunch for that. The precision is tossed in FOC it seems...

hah!

^^^ MJP...Follow docus is only worthwhile in motion pictures & video when using

a person called a "focus puller" who may or may not have access to a monitor

while the shot is going down. These shots are rehearsed before a take...maybe

numerous times depending on the experience of the FP. Follow focus is also used

on PSC rigs (Personal Single Camera) when the operator needs to do timed zooms,

pull backs etc...keeping the subject in sharp focus. There are numerous kits available

in the professional motion picture/video arena for this...and you would be surprised

just how expensive they can get...especially the servo controlled wireless jobbers.

Follow focus is gaining ground in DSLR video these days mind you...especially

with a 2 person shooting crew....one shooter one focus puller. It's nearly worthless

IMO in a single shooter application where ones eyes never leave the viewfinder/

monitor. Don't waste your quid on it.
